Look what I bought today!

Went for a scoot on the bike today, down the 401 to Colborne, and made a deal on the 67 Grande Parisienne that Fred (68sd) posted about a while back. A little weary of working on the 69', I felt I needed a "driver" to sooth the soul for a while.

327/275, TH400, 12 bolt. 56000 original miles.

I'll have what I think is a piece of CP history in my drive next week! biggrin

I'm glad to see a member buy that car. It's as nice a 67 you will find anywhere. You have got to find out more about the embassy history and post it. In the meantime what a great driver!

I happen to think the 4 dr hardtop is one of the most under rated cars ever built.  They were great examples of engineering and looked as good if not better than the 2 dr hardtops.
I don't think any automaker has attempted to duplicate this design since the 60's.  I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
This is a beautiful example of 60's design and engineering and I'm very glad to see it in the hands of someone that will drive and enjoy the car.
Congrats!!

I LOVE that car!

It causes me pain seeing it because I remembered I crushed my 69 Grande Parisenne zone manager's car because it was a 4 door hardtop.... 427, every option known to man but it was a 4 door hardtop....... I just can't believe I used to think that way. You bought a beautiful car.

Out in the country here (when I was a kid) we used to say those 4 door hardtops were the best cars for hunting rabbits because with all the windows down that shotgun could be moved around to cover a lot of ground!

Of course we were joking...

Wow, congrats!  Great score, can't wait to see it, glad it went to a CP member.

I agree with everyone else, 4 door hardtops are just beautiful. I remember seeing the big two page ads for these types of cars when I was a kid in magazines like Life, The Canadian (which used to come in the Toronto Star on weekends) and others and just always thought they looked so classy.  I think they continued to make them in GM B bodies through the mid 70's.  I know a friend bought a 75 Delta 88 Royale four dr hardtop in dark blue an it was a beaut!

Yup, here is a page from the '76 GM Canada brochure, last year for the 4 dr. hardtop at GM.
