RE: Look what I bought today!

Thanks for all the thumbs up guys!
Makes me feel I've finally got something special.

I actually really believe it will encourage me to get back to work on the 69' next spring. The fact I'll have a driver will be a big load off my mind. I tend to get really stressed out at the percieved lack of progress on the ragtop, and the boss has sensed I've been miserable. Now I'll feel really a part of the hobby being able to cruise to meets and cruise nights, and I can't wait to take it to the drive-in! Perhaps there's still time this year.

Mark.

You've got a beauty there - 67 GP is the best looking 4 door made that year in my opinion. Skirts & hideaways make the car. Nicest ones I ever saw were a silver on red interior car in the mid 70s, and 67 Poncho' in the 80s - Fawn with a white top - before he took it out west.

You have a special car for sure. If you get a chance, photo document all the chassis and under hood of this car please. I'm not a four door sedan guy, but GM mid 60's 4 door hardtops were usually very stylish cars. This one is outstanding with the dark "diplomat" blue paint and that fabulous interior. The fact it DOESN'T have A/C makes it that much more Canadian, eh?

The history of the 67GP as far as I can tell so far.

The car was apparently government owned from 67-70.

I swear I've seen pictures of a blue government GP unloading passengers on PH. Have you?

In 70', the second owner bought it and really took care of it. It was never winter driven since.

He passed away at some point, and his daughter took over.

It was stored in from 72' till 86'!

Back on the road, it has obviously been kept out of the sun.

The seat cloth looks like new, the parcel tray looks like new. Perfect headliner. No rust in the dash corners. Carpet...excellent. Some plastichrome is gone on the door handles (Impala repod.?)

56000 miles, 90000Kms, how does a 90k cars body look? Some dings?

It has a ton of documents with the sale, I'll report and look deeper as I can.

How many of these in this condition are left cross Can., 10?

I say that was a very cool purchase.

Rare to find a car stored properly for so long.

I'm thinking one!  By the way you can get that plastic wire loom on the firewall  that always breaks from Classic Industries (probably other places too) for not much money at all.  I ordered for a 66 Impala. It looked identical to stock.  That, the chrome oil filler thing and red heater hose are the only things that don't look like they belong.

Great to  have to fix stuff like that instead of trying to find a quarter panel or a trunk floor!

Does it still have all the T3 headlights too?

I'll bet it has the T3's

If I keep it for some time, I'd like to put some hidden power to it.
A modern internal regulated alt, main power point and headlamp relays (all hidden of course) and nice Halogens.

The thing has really nice looking wiring to start with.

that is a beautiful car - and I'd hazard to say the most rust free Ontario car I've ever seen.    Excellent score!!!

The Repro T3's are halogen bright ..
But if you can put a true 14.5 to em', they'll really shine.

All old charging systems are weak imop.

Cool if you can hide the improvements though.
