Holy 'blow the dust off an old thread', Batman!

For an extended high speed car chase, it's hard to beat Vanishing Point.  For an intense but shorter chase scene filmed at actual speed, Bullitt is the one for me.

If you like 'foreign' car chases, Ronin wasn't bad.

The engine that they used was apparently an L88(427) that was purchased for the car. And the GTO was found out east sitting on some street.
