Not always. The frame is likely toast from sitting in that grass for so many years. Grass is REALLY bad- it's like salt when it comes to corrosion.

If its sitting on dirt like in the photo, it rots from the bottom up. Frame and floors go first.

Johnee D, the frames had very little paint on them from the factory and a lot areas that collected dirt and salt. I don't think the frame insides got any paint at all? Also most people at least washed the body of the car and never bothered to look underneath until it was too late.

My 69 Biscayne 2 dr post came from Arizona, but after a few winters in Ontario & Nova Scotia the frame was very soft in many places. Had to put another one under it. Moisture is not kind to those enclosed frames.
