I am the same way.  The first thing I noticed about the car was the plate, that is why I pointed it out.  I am not overly religious but I too will do anything to avoid the number of the beast, I don't even like looking at the odometer every time those numbers roll by.

I get 2% on any and all purchases with this card. It helped buy my new Tahoe. It fully paid for my used Silverado. $0.

Now, the card will pay almost half of the price of this car. Apparently there is now an annual fee of $59 for new cardholders, but I was an early user so I pay no fee of any kind.

Pretty good deal. 2% on all purchases. Redeemable on any car or light truck purchase....new or used....dealer or private. Just pay the outstanding balance in full every month and it's free. I do, and it is. wink

A nice Bonneville for around $2,200.

I'm still looking. I've got a big shop to fill.

so you would have charged $100,000 on that card to receive the 2% ($2000) credit your using on this car-wow you buy a lotta stuff on that card !

Yes, I do. One example: I paid for all building materials for my new shop on the card, after negotiating a nice contractor's discount. I also collected AeroPlan points on most of the shop purchases through Home Hardware. Gotta work the angles. wink

It FULLY paid for your Silverado, and it helped pay for your new Tahoe as well?  Holy Smokes Bob, how much have you put through on that card in the last few years?jawdrop.gif

I don't think I have put through a total of $100,000 on all my credit cards put together in the last decade.biggrin  But then again, I haven't paid a lot of tax on things either.wink

One only needs to be marked once with the sign of the beast.  I would not even have that number associated with anything I had, however temporary that may be.  Have the car exorcised before you even put it on the car carrier Bob.

My next door neighbors had a 75 GrandeVille convert. in 75. It was pea soup green with white interior. Awesome looking car and made my 73 Parisienne look cheap.

I'm picking the car up on the weekend. If you never hear from me again after that, you'll know the exorcism didn't work. I'll be posting a photo thread for those interested. I'll provide sufficient warning for those with concerns.

Every day since the auction ended, the Canadian dollar is getting stronger. Because he priced the car in U.S. dollars, the price keeps dropping. Soon, it'll be free. wink
