Wow that Boneville trucks sounds just nasty!! That's a lot of cam for that 4.8, how tight they plan on twisting it?
Can't wait to see the dyno pull.

Been busy in garage repairing cpl holes in trunk and trying to find parts but no sites list 63 laurentian parts at all around here.even in search laurentian not included in list of Pontiacs ..lol.had a gas tank leak tried to find new tank or repair, that year tank not found anywhere and repair was beyond my price range at 500$ so bought the repair kit at 160$ and did it myself, still have to find an order new float and filter

1963 Laurentian = 1963 Chevrolet full-size mechanically

Don't forget that our Canadian Pontiacs are basically the same chassis and mechanically built like Chevrolets and a lot of parts are inter-changeable........gas tank too ??

So check for parts in Chevrolet listing for your car.......guys here would know better than me about the  gas tanks.

I was told that model of gas tank with spout located at quarter panel was only in Laurentiian  for that year all the other Pontiacs Chevy filled by bumper.

Nope. Whoever told you that was/is wrong. All full size Chev/Canadian Pontiacs are rear quarter filler tanks.

I know for my '64 Parisienne, a '64 Impala gas tank works (that would go for '64 Laurentians and Strato Chiefs also). All are driver side, rear quarter filler tanks.

It might even be the same tank for '63 as in '64.

Experimenting in the garage today with the wheels I took off my car. They are a beautiful set of Keystone Klassics. As a young guy(51 now), I didnt really appreciate Keystones. I liked The ever popular Cragar SS. But when I purchased my car these were on it. As time passed I liked them more and more. Anyway, I was looking on the internet and really liked the look of the Keystone Kustomag, which up until the last couple years I didnt know existed. Very similar to the Klassic but the spokes were not joined by an outer hoop. They seemed to have been as cast in spots or painted grey. They looked more muscular than the Klassic and more like a 5 spoke, not a 5 hole as I thpught the Klassics looked. After looking at both wheels I felt the balck paint made the Klassic look flowery at the end of the spoke. Thinking a more as cast finish might take away from that I sprayed one. Id love to hear thpughts, good or bad on the results... Here is a before and after and a pic of a Kustomag. The Gold script n the cap is all wrong now....

I love them both but the original Classic has always been my favourite, way more than Cragar SS which I also really like. (And for the record, I'm in my late 50's so I grew up with both too)

i like the cast .. Softens the edge , giving the spokes less sharpness.

i should have some older ET centers here .

the kustommag in the old pic was the first design. Those spokes where riveted ! same design as my vintage Raders .

Beauty wheels !!

Rough day on the dyno! Got a text saying we need a bit more bodywork? Seems the T/A let go at 140mph,peeled the tread off like it was a recap(we're thinking strapped down too tight)! No spareno. From what he got, figures 450 at tires. Try again if we have time! Looks like I have a couple more nights work! O well, part of the game. Had to laugh...my pic # is 911

61-64 tank is the same, Chev and all Cdn Pontiac models had the side fill, not sure about wagons though, may be different or not. Just google an image and you'll see the fill door. The senders are the same too, except some have a 3/8's line and/or a return line, which came on factory dual exhaust cars. High HP 327's and 409's. This is a 5/16.

Best to post questions like this on the 63 forum BTW.

I wonder if a larger rim and smaller rubber height would weigh less and work better? Less rubber to squirm and get hot? And readily available if that is a stock GM 6 bolt?

Guess there is something to those speed ratings on tires? Hard to believe the whole tire didn't blow.

WOW!! on both counts! Never seen one peel that completely. And 450hp to the wheels out of a 4.8! Crazy... Love it. Need a video clip that would sound soooo sweet.
