Well I left the garage to do this today, a little fruit for weight if I hit snow on my way to Alberta. Driving with the top down here today but sounds a little cooler over the Rockies.
What's the saying? "There's never a wrong time to plant a tree but you'll wish you had done it 20 years ago". This doesn't really apply in your case but I always smile when I hear that.
I have been keeping busy with projects now that the wagon is pretty much done. We purchased this old tired car hauler off a friend of mine knowing it was tired. It was a little worse than expected but with some love and lots of work form family and friends its better than new.
Once the trailer was done it was time to clean up the ratty old lean to shelter and build something attractive.
Next is a super sale at Rockton swap meet to purge the stash and then I can see what I can get into next
ive been neglecting our living situation because of weather and time constraints, plus ill admit it, I was playing with the new resident , I need all vehicle to be mobile, but yesterday I got too it again replace a rotten 2/6 with a new pressure treated piece , covered the torn apart side with felt paper to make her weather tight, and got ambitious finally installing the big window in our bath room. the main reason I needed light and I didn't want to do it if it got real could, good thing too I woke up to 4 inches of wet snow this morning.
'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
Hows the under side(pans/dog legs etc)? Is the split bench in her(tough to find) or buckets?
Jim,
The main floor pan and braces are toast. Plans are for a one piece floor pan with braces and inner rockers all preassembled. Left 1/4 is pretty beat. Trying to decide if the money is worth it to buy a full 1/4 or be frugal and do patch panels. The car comes with side trim, all but a couple pieces is junk. I can deal with door dings but kinked and flattened is just not worth it.
No interior in the car. I was planning on using the extra set of 2+2 bucket seats I have and probably modifying a sedan rear seat to fit.
I spent the afternoon mounting a front receiver on to my 88 Jeep. I may have mentioned before that I have a "Snow Sport" plow. Last winter I had an old receiver that I had kicking around that I welded to the top of the bumper. It was a little too high for the plow so I had to by an adapter to bring the receiver down a few inches. This adapter put a ton of strain on the hitch when plowing and started to distort the bumper. So, I removed the bumper and installed a better receiver on the bottom of the frame. I welded it to the frame and now the plow fits much better. Even with the old receiver it worked really well last winter. I got it on clearance at Crappy Tire. I can clear my driveway in 10 minutes
