Finished replacing heater core in the 64 Impala, next is conversion to pwr. Brakes. In the mean time I ordered 2 frt. buckets seat replacement covers, new foam & billet D/shaft brg from Ecklers in Florida to be shipped to friend in WV then brought too Ohio in Feb. when were having a 3 guys reunion & trip to Summit Auto. checked with him for delivery this week, NOPE,called Florida, foam B/O,Center Brg. B/O, seat covers 6 to 8 weeks to be made $hit!!! never told me this on ordering,Now I'm waiting for credit on my card, as I cancelled order, found a supplier local but is 3 times the US amount but bought the bullet!!! Heater core was not easy, inner fender off, right side seat out, glove box removal etc.

I ordered pretty much a complete interior kit for the Beaumont from Legendary in Rodchester NY. 6-8 weeks also. They had a 2 day 15% off and 1/2 price shipping sale. Very happy with price. Full charge to credit card soon as you place order

They must all order from same supplier as I called "Bob's Impala" in Arizona & sales guy there told me right up front 6 to 8 weeks for covers ??? That's better than not telling you & just take your order!!!

Wow. I've heard about the heater core fix and having to take the fender off (to get at those hard to reach nuts), but not the seat and glove box!

I have my interior out, so I should do mine before re-installation.

Just the inner panel for fender, makes it easy to get at 2 bolts that hold outer heater box off, taking seat out makes it much easier to lay on floor & G/box has to come out to remove the inner box off fire wall!

How I get around it, there is probably a way to do it on the phone,

  • Send the image from your phone to your desktop email.
  • Pick it up on your email, "open" it and "save as" to a file on your desktop.
  • Open the image on file in whatever image program windows supplies. Rotate it, (crop, adjust colour, etc), then "save as" with a new name (this most important).

If you use the same unique image number that comes with it, it'll always remain as taken.

  • Use the supplied site Attach images program as usual...

 Nice!  Love the colour.

FWIW, I never knew those stripes were painted on - always assumed they were vinyl stickers.

Keep up the good work!

The color is emerald turquoise. Only 3.4 percent of camaros left the factory this colour. The stripe was painted over the body colour at the factory of course it was single stage, now you can do both colours in base and clear everything.

Bored, I went out to the shed tonight and redid the 4 speed pedal assembly I'd bought.

Gave the mount ( 1966, different stamping than the 65) a light bead, then a fast and whatever clearcoat. Looks crappy, just like the original. The 66 mount also has splined firewall mounting bolts. Hopefully no issue.

Stripped the pedal arms of whatever it was on them, it's not paint, like some kind of pitch. Beaded then a cheesy coat of black on what you would see. New pads. New bushings. Looks good.

Great timing posting this Mark. I am installing my cruise control right now and if you would be willing to take a picture from a different angle you could save me climbing up under there to see what there is for clearance around the brake light switch! I'll steal your pic and repost it showing the area I'd like to see.

Could you give the pedals a twist to the right so I can look up into the channel and see how much room there is around the brake light switch? I need to run a vacuum hose up there and it will either have to connect up with the vacuum line from the clutch switch. I don't know what routing will work the best for the vacuum hose.

Mark, on my 59, 62, and 63, you can slide the pedal shaft out for the automatic and slide the clutch and brake pedals in on the manual pedal shaft, no need to replace the mount on the firewall. May need to add some rubber bumper from the manual mount, but the holes are there for that.

Don, I think 65-70 does the same thing as yours as for sliding in and out. The only reason I changed the mount ,was it came with the pedals, and is in better shape then the old one. And the old was was out of the car anyway. Also, I didn't want to damage the rubber stops prying them out of their square holes. They were in place and in nice shape.

Same dimensions between the two, same holes, brake switch bracket the same, but probably a wee more rigid owing to that stamped in gusset hole. See image.

Here's a couple of shots for you Carl,

66 vs 65 (rusty)
