Any tips on cleaning rubber parts?

Anybody have any tips on cleaning rubber pieces? Some have oversray, Want to make them look like new.
And the rubber brake lines that go from the brake cylinder to the frame. I don't want to use a cleaning product that detriates the rubber.
Thanks

I just use shop hand cleaner . Works great on rubber break lines or any thing with grease and dirt. Even your hands LoL.

Simple green.
Spray it on a damp shop rag and gently rub, it'll cut as much as you like.

I use GM Spray Cleaner and a stiff bristle brush for a lot of that stuff. It takes time but it usually ends up looking like new after enough scrubbing. Also dish detergent in some cases as well.

use to do it with wd30, might not be the smartest thing and it will collect dust but it worked in a jiffy on rad hoses ect.

Thats what I do as well...Thought you guys would think I'm nuts...LOL   Used this trick when I detailed cars years ago.  The car lots around here used to bring cars from down east, and we'd try to get rid of the rust. At least hide it.  Now they've made it so hard to do because of Out of Province inspections.

I see all you guys use alcohol cleaner, thinner, brake clean, whatever. I tend to shy away from it on rubber parts, or use it as a last resort. Do you not think it will take some life out of the rubber? I have stuck to milder stuff for that reason.
