RE: 2 1966 parisiennes 4 sale Manitoba $ 250.00 for both

I don't really have a use for them.  I'll bring some for the trip home anyway.  As for help, thanks! Once Warren and I figure out what needs to be done I'll let you guys know and we'll work it out.  I really appreciate the offers guys.

This is defintley the farthest I have ever gone for a parts car (crazy really!).  I wonder if it's a record?

If you have some that is great. Those use to be on my wagon before I would still like to keep them for spares when I need to word on some thing else. After the last post I made I thought he probably didn't even tell you they were not his and I never put in the add they did not come with the car. So while I was out I thought I would tell you could have them but if its OK with you I would like keep them

No Problem at all.  I'm still getting a bargain as far as I'm concerned except for the trip costs, but thats my own choice.  Where else are you going to find 66 AC parts?

According to Warren the compessor is long gone and all the engine brackets probably too but I'm mostly looking for the other stuff anyway.

I'm still itching to see a dash photo. I can't imagine why there is no hump in the middle of it for the air vent

I talked to Warren today.  Looks like I'm set for the trip on the weekend of November 7th!  He said he take some pics of the dash and email them to me.  When he does that I 'll post them.  From the description it sounds as if it has all the right stuff from the firewall forward but none of the vents in the dash.  Maybe it was dealer installed, but if it was it would be likely be one of the underdash units I would have thought.  Maybe the Parisienne installations didn't have all the fancy ducting of the Grande Parisienne  Versions?

Any other theories?

So anyway, we'll probably leave on Friday, tow the 67 2+2 to Vince's at Foam lake and probably get to Gimli Saturday PM with any luck.  If theres any light left I'll work on freeing up the back wheels, swapping my wheels and hooking it up.  We might leave it loaded at Gimli and grab a hotel near Winnipeg. Hopefully we can hook it up and go early Sunday and with luck and good weather we might make it home really late Sunday.  Does that sound actually do-able to you guys?  Also as the timing plays out maybe we can meet for coffee or to mutually prep the 66.  It's gonna be tight though.

That schedule is possible but no room for error there!

It would be great if you had a hotel near Winnipeg as we could meet at a Tim's near the north side then. Easy for me, I just go around the city on the Perimeter to find you guys.

Keep us posted please.

Which 66 manual did you look in Vern? The full size owner's manual? I think I have one of those I could look in.

Thanks for those links Vern. We'll have to see what works out.  I will keep you guys posted.  Here's hoping for nonblizzard weather!

In the meantime if you gurus could figure out the AC installation that would be groovy too!

I am sure if you left the Lac at dawn, 13 hours of daylight or so could bring you near Gimli. Basically 8 hrs to Foam Lake and then 5 or so to Gimli. Give or take......

Ok, I don't have that manual any more. I gave it away when I sold my 4 speed car, sadly.

Does Gimli have a Tim's?

The no-vents-in-the-dash is sure a puzzler. It all looks factory, you are correct.

Even the control is the right one (manual a/c) for the Canadian cars. The US cars used it as well as offering the automatic temp control a/c. Canadian cars only had manual a/c offered.

If it's a factory installation, there can't have been many in 1966. My 69 Parisienne has A/C but it's actually the only Canadian car from the 60's that I can ever recall seeing that had factory air.

Yeah, according to GM, for example, they built 5147 Grande Parisienne 2 door hardtops in 1966 of which 23 came with AC.  Installation rate of about .5%The other series I don't know about.

Until now I'd only ever seen your's and a 66 Parisienne 4 door sedan 327 car. That is in over 30 years of watching full size 66 Canadian Ponchos
