If it's a mechanical gauge I have never heard of getting that fixed. I believe the tube that goes to the gauge is sealed with some type of gas in it, is it not?

Carl's right, believe the "capilary" tube is filled with Amonia or something the same?? once the tube is broken, the gauge is "toast" I don't know of anyone who repairs these,or if it can be done!!!!  Pete

Sweet, I'd love a set of these for the GP, but with a voltmeter.

Good taste wagon64'!

How does everone feel about mechanical guages overall? In particular, a oil line coming into the car? More accurate than electric?

Absolutely!  And Beaumontwagon is right, they are reproducing those gauges again.  You can get them at Summit, amongst other places.

I love the mechanical gauges. As far as the oil line goes, just don't use that cheap plastic tubing. GM used steel tubing on many 60's gauges and that works fine.

THAT CHEAP PLASTIC TUBING LEFT A BIG OIL STAIN (SHINEY SPOT) ON THE RUBBER FLOOR OF MY BUDDIES '70 CHEVELLE 300 DELUXE.disbelief NOT GOOD STUFF. IT WAS KIND OF FUNNY THOUGH AS I WAS IN THE BACK SEAT AND ANOTHER BUDDY WAS UP FRONT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT GETTING HIS PANT-LEG AND FOOT PI$$ED ON BY HOT OIL. TOOK HIM A MINUTE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING. omfg.gif
