We usually get around 100, for a small hamlet that's quite alot. I sometimes think they "bus" them in from afar!!! Keep looking for the Greyhound, parked down the street??? Pete

Same as Carl We havent gotten any for about the last 10 years. They seem to flock to the town house complexes around here. Smart kids walk about 1/2 mile and probably get about 20lbs of good qualitly sugar

Up here in the wilds of Haliburton, none. It is a cold, wet and stormy night, got to keep the powder dry, if you know what I mean. I wasn't really looking forward to facing a bunch of potential H1N1 carriers in any event. I have been practicing a lot of "avoidance" lately, helps if you are already anti-social.
Just about to sit down to a big wholesome dinner in front of a roaring fireplace, then good wine and good movies to follow.

we get between 60-100 in our area, a few of us have small hobby tractors and we hook up our utility trailers throw on a couple bails of hay and take the kids around its much safer for them,

We got 250 last year. This year we were at the hospital with Cathy's dad. 86 and pneumonia in both lung and he has emphysema. So we figured the kids could do with out our house this year. We took our candy to one of the neighbours to hand out.

There is a bit of a tradition in the part of Toronto I live in. It's the honour system. Many folks go out for the evening but leave a bowl or two of candy on the porch with a sign that says help yourself or something like that. When my kids went out after the last walking run we would get in the car and troll for honour system houses with a big spot light from the truck, Rosedale was the best.
When we were having supper the kids were joking that if any kids showed up we'd have to give them chicken and mashed potatoes that we were having at the time!
