A Virgil Exner designed Chrysler product is the only Chrysler product I'd own. I feel his designs are pure art. Others, of course hated his designs..

I like Virgil's stuff too, a 300C is right at the top of my list, but if someone ever dropped a 440 or hemi-powered E or A body into my lap, I wouldn't refuse it!biggrin

Those Rosewoods/Walnuts are real nice

I have to say that the wheel that I have installed in more cars is the late 1970's Z28 wheel-maybe not GM's best but was sure nice to drive with-big issues with it being in a 76 corvette and 76 vega GT !

I've gone thru several of these wheels...They are comfortable to drive with for sure.

Don't they re-pop these now at a semi-reasonable price?

I'm not sure of the years and I don't have a picture of one but the "Banjo" wheels, from about 1937 were always my favorite style.  The oldest car I have ever owned was a 47 so I never owned a Banjo wheel.

my first pic above is of a 40 ford banjo wheel, is that what you mean? I used the center banjo part and married it to a 14" superior 500 teak wheel...

banjos are cool ,,,and not just for pluckin

i like the original in my old beast. i don't know how many miles i've put on it but it is so friggin comfortable. when i first got the truck i did the usual 8 in foam wheel from canadian tire. not a good thing if you don't have power steering. i think i read somewhere its like 23 turns lock to lock.
