Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?' The girl

motorcycles and went fishing and hunting and played golf a lot and

I read this earlier but didn't know how to react. The song reminded me of that email that went around about the guys going straight to bed while a women has all this stuff to do before they turn in ie make lunches, put stuff away, finish the laundry and so on. My mom had forwarded it me, I replied serves them right for wasting their time watching tv and eating bon bons when a man would have done it all first so he can spend the evening relaxing knowing everything is done. Im still wearing it, but it was fun.

I think the mesage is pretty clear. I haven't been married for 28 years to the same woman and learned zip. In fact I probably learned it before I was married from my Dad who was married to the same woman for 60 years.

Not news that I coach hockey, this year it's little guys 13, but the the last 5 it was 17 to 20 year olds. It never ceases to amaze me how most of these guys treat girls like complete crap, no respect, the way they talk about them and laugh, use them and walk. The thing that gets me most is that I know many of their parents and it just makes me think what the H goes on in their houses to generate this utter and complete disrespect of women. confuse

I have stories from the locker room that can't be repeated.

When I made that first post it was to reinforce what the video was saying. Sorry gents that's the way I see it.

I was just kidding Ray. I know the message and I know exactly what you mean. I see it with the "kids" at work. Using girls for you know what. One young lady at work has been used so many times. I feel bad for her as she just want's to meet a nice guy and it just isn't happening for her. On the other side of the coin it's also easy for a woman to take advantage of ones good naturedness. I've been down that road before....

During the five years I spent mentoring teen boys and working on cars with them, our focus was often on girls. We (mentors) used many of our weekly lessons we had with the boys to discuss girls and how to and how not to treat them. It was amazing. For the most part, anything we taught them about how to treat and respect girls seemed totally new to these kids.

Of course, most of these guys came from homes with violence, alcohol abuse, raised by single parents, poverty etc etc. I am blessed to come from a home where my dad never spoke harshly to my mom and he taught us well. I grew up thinking that is how every home was.

I hope I can put this into the right words so it makes sense. We basically tried to teach these guys if all that we taught them was part of their every day life, and if they married a woman who lived the way we knew was proper for a woman to live, they would be guaranteed a long and blessed marriage.

"Cuts deep, eh?" simply recognizes the difficulty some (not all.....just some) of us may have in coming to terms with that behaviour.
