Greetings from Saskatchewan

I've surfed this forum for a while and figured "Why not join?".
My car is a '68 Beaumont Custom. I've had it for about 6 years and bought it pretty much as you see it. The car was originally done in or around 1982(?) by an 18 year old kid. His dad owned a large GM dealership so new parts were cheap. All the body work was done at the GM dealership. The taillights and rear panel were beyond repair as well as the grille and headlight bezels. Chevelle parts were put on instead. As you can see there are no emblems denoting what it is, hence my license plates "Foolin"

The engine is a 4 bolt block, 2.02 angle plug heads, 11:1 TRW pistons, GM "pink" rods,GM steel crank,"Pete Jackson" gear drive, rocker arm stud girdle,"Weiand" tunnel-ram 2- Holley 650 cfm carbs, Hooker ceramic coated headers and 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust. The  trans. is a Turbo 400 with a 3000 stall convertor. The rear is a 10 bolt with 3.73 gears.
Once all the work was completed, the kid had it at a car show once where I had taken pictures of it. Later on I learned the kid was killed by a drunk driver. His parents put the Beaumont in storage for years. In 1990(?)at the urging of the people in his hometown, the father was persuaded to bring it out one more time in memory of his son. The day before the show, the father had a heart attack and passed away. The car was sold after that and I lost track of it until 2001, when it turned up 200 miles away. Not a happy story but the car is basically the same as it was in the'80's. The person I bought it from replaced the crushed velvet interior with Chevelle vinyl. The head liner is still black velvet with red piping.

Cool car love the 80s look, centre lines tunnel ram. I started into the car thing late 70s and the 80s were fun.
There were a lot of similar machines cruising Dudas street in London Ont then. Welcome

Welcome from Winnipeg. Car looks good.  You should keep an eye out for a Beaumont grill and tail lights.  Make it back into a Beaumont.

Welcome. Great looking ride. Looks like all those ponies should be turned into Beaumont ponies. You could probably find the help on this site.

Welcome to the site.

Nice car, the story is rather sad about the previous owner and his dad.  Glad to hear a good person like yourself has found the car and is restoring it.
