What I did at work today

I had to share this.. because I was so excited to be in the presence of greatness.
My present boss is Andy Smith (check IMDB.com under Andy Smith (V))
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0807310/

We were putting tracks on a humvee for the movie we're on and tomorrow I get to put a roll cage in it.. then.. on "the day" we get to roll it down a ski hill and possibly blow it up.. YEAH!!!!!

There is a nitrogen cannon coming from Vancouver to put in it as well.. we may not use it.. but if we do. it's a cannon that mounts inside the vehicle and blasts a large pipe down to hit the ground and flip the vehicle.. pretty neat.

That's way cool. You get to build it and kill it, without guilt. And you get paid to do it. Awesome.

That is for sure cool. We now even get to know some of the secrets that make that type of action so effective. Way to go Kelly.

Cool. Are you putting any camera mounts on it?

I imagine the cameras will all be external and away from the vehicle.. But you never know. I started fabbing up the roll cage today and I have to double it.. did I mention there are 2 hummers we're doing this to?
It is a great job.. other than my one co-worker losing most of his thumb in a 20" sanding wheel today.. wasnt pretty.. at all..

Oh ouch. Our son has a partially amputated finger from years ago. My heart goes out to this co-worker you mention. It's a long road waiting for that to heal and adjustments ahead for him I'm afraid.  Not fun...

Thanks guys.. and "mo" is doing pretty good today.. he got out of surgery this morning and, so far, he gets to keep 90% of his thumb.. so he's one less finger nail to trim..

Sounds like our son's index finger, off behind the nail. The injury was farther forward but they trim it back because apparently a half nail will torment you for life. You have to remove the whole thing and the cells that produce it.

Good to hear he's on the mend. It seems like such a slow heal. Tell him not to get discouraged. And if they have therapy for him to work on it, tell him to do even more exercises than they suggest. We went way overboard to try to make sure our son's nerve ending etc healed as best they could. So many people have trouble with amputations when it's cold out. Our son has some trouble but not like many people do and we attribute it to being faithful with the therapy.

well.. they blew it up yesterday at the location.. it was snowing like crazy and they loved it.
I didnt get a chance to see the actual "blow up" but was there to put the fire out and then assist in tipping it back on to it's tracks.. then the boss drove it back to the shop..LOL
