My favourite show. Have every episode recorded. When I read about it coming out in the summer of 2007 I knew I was going to like it and have something to watch now that The Sopranos had ended.
I grew up in the 60's and that show is like a total time machine transporting me back to my youth. They are absolutely meticulous with the details. Also a very interesting time in history that has largely been ignored until now. The cars are a big part of it but also the lifestyle, people still got dressed up to go out to night clubs and hear Sinatra. I have to admit, I love the drinking in the office. I know some days I could get through things easier with a belt after lunch. I was lucky enough to just catch the tail end of that culture when I started to work in an office. It wasn't quite as bad as on the show, but come Friday afternoon, some special drawers in people's desks would be opened for some libations.

Like Hillar i was able to live a bit of that. I had a Boss back in the late 70's early 80's that kept a well stocked bar in the office. He slept with about 8 women at the office and he had this one who was his standbye, he could always count on her for a warm bed when ever he was down on his luck. He was married twice that I know of. I recall once going out for lunch on a Friday and getting home at 10:30 am Saturday morning. Another time we went out of town on business and checked in the hotel we got on the elevator and at the last second a pretty blonde got on too. I got off at my floor and he said meet in the lobby at six for dinner. About 5:50 the phone rings and it's him. Sorry I can't make dinner. What happen? Remember that Blonde that got on the elevator? Ya. Well I said your mini bar or mine, I'm in her room now. There are a lot more stories to tell.....

Like Ray I had a couple bosses w/ bars also overnight accommodations in their offices.. I had many a drink there but never stayed over!.
Brings to mind the Car-Bar brand drink dispensers.. I saw a Caddy w/ one at the homeshow in the 60's and it was basically a bunch o' tanks in the trunk full of different liquors and mixes.. Each tank had a window-washer motor w/ hoses leading to dispensers that were mounted under the glovebox!. Anyone elese remember these?.

67 SD 396, YOU LOST ME BROTHER. Acadians and Beaumonts are Pontiacs. So what the @#$% are you talking about. Take her easy and relaxe brother. I meant no harm in my inquire. Just curious why Mopars or Fords or what !@#$ ever is doing on a Pontiac site. Again a reminder to you, Acadians and Beaumonts are P.O.N.T.I.A.C.S. Peace. George.
Acadians and Beaumonts are Pontiacs?
Hmmm, that is a debate for somewhere else since it has been heavily debated already and it has been asked that we leave that topic alone. The last time it was debated, it became very heated, the thread was removed and we've been asked to not hold this debate here.
Those two fine vehicles were sold by Pontiac dealerships in Canada. That officially makes them Pontiacs in Canada. Of course they are actually Chevys with Pontiac cloaking but never the less for all intents and purposes they are Pontiacs. I do not understand how any one in their right mind could even begin to argue that point. The original dealer brochures say right on them Pontiac. Amen and to all a good night. As a side note my 57 Pontiac is a 57 Chevy in disguise. I do not tell people it is a Chevy. I tell people it is a P.O.N.T.A.C. Lets all be proud of our Canadian Pontiacs no matter what they are. George.

We argued about this until we were all blue in the face back in the early days of Canadian Poncho. The best decision was to leave it alone and agree to disagree. There's so much evidence pointing either way that sometimes I don't think GM even knew for sure!

I tell the folks here in good old USA that not only are Canadian Pontiacs on Chevrolet rolling chassis but Chevrolet bodies are also on Canadian Pontiac rolling chassis.
Halfbreed, that is so hilarious. I love your sense of humor brother. I just wonder how many of your American brothers will get it. Funny never the less. Cheers. George.
