Friday The 13th. Roadtrip To Maine

Hi Everyone,

I doing a road trip this Friday from PEI to Maine to see a '64 Parisienne CS ...
16 hours round trip.

I'm branching out a bit in my search area, because there is really not a good selection of cars on this Island, with such a small population (137,000).

Hopefully, finally, this car meets my needs, and I can say that I own a Canadian Pontiac (I've been looking for 3 years).
I will also be bringing a Canadian back to it's homeland, if I buy it.

I will get pictures regardless of whether I purchase the car or not.

Wish me luck!
Darryl.

A vehicle is charged by the amount of wheels it has (the cheapest being a motorcycle) ... I'm not sure about the cost of a trailer.
You are are charged when you leave the Island, so if you come to visit, save money by NEVER leaving. : )

Hey "big D " good luck on the road trip, I did one last Thurs. & came home with a "good score" 52 Torpedo back. Think having the trailer with you helps as seller knows your your serious in buying, least it did with me & also helped in negoation of price,as they don't want to lose a "buyer" with CASH in the pocket!!!!    Pete  smilebiggrin

As I'm sure you know east coast cars well enough, but make sure you really check out the frame for rust and the rear body mounts. Good luck and can't wait to see some pic's.

Such a rare car !!!! This General Motors of Canada Pontiac Parisienne convertible is unique to Canada and one of only a very small number that were made. This immaculate example has been brought to us by the widow of an extremely careful gentleman, who bought this car in 1966, when it was only two years old. Just shortly before he died, he sent this car out for top quality base, clear, in the original factory metallic rose, with all new authentic matching rose interior. The carpets and seats have been completely redone, all the door rubbers are new and the door panels are restored originals. Door jambs and fender edges are all painted to a high standard and the overall effect of excellent quality. The motor compartment is one of the most original we have seen, with original factory paint and crayon markings on the firewall. The trunk, much to our amazement, has excellent original factory paint over it's entirety. The car runs and drives extremely well and it is quite obvious that it has been mechanically very well maintained, since new. Jump in and go touring, or enter a show. Wherever you go in this car, you will have a smile with you. This car is rare, it is Canadian, it is pretty, it is nice and it will likely prove to be an excellent investment, by providing not only much pleasure and enjoyment, but a steady increase in value, as well. Good Luck ! I hope you get your dream car back to Canada. Back in 1989, I went to Maine Ogunquit for my honeymoon, also we used to go alot as kids back in the 70's and 80's, last time I went was in the 90's, It's only 5 hour drive from my hometown in Quebec, the beaches are nice but the Atlantic ocean water is icy cold there ! When I was a kid there was an amusement park in Old Orchard with the big clown face building, I always remembered it, kind of scary looking, I wonder if it's still there ???

Hwy. 95 to 295 to Freeport. It's pretty well a straight 8 hr. drive from the Island.
Nope, not the 409 clone, but I'll be close by it.
I'm looking at a 283 all original survivor with a (as I am told) pristine interior.

Hey Carl, I am passing through Clinton ............ Maine. : )

Good Luck!  If you have any road issues, and need to stop in NB, we'll help. I hope you get what you are looking for, they are a great ride. There is a 64 for sale here too. Not mine, havent seen this one in person. I'd love to hear about your border/customs ordeal once you get back.

Saw the car.
It is a true survivor. Original rough/dull paint, mint, mint interior, good 283 drive train, good frame, and all the the trim/parts are there (even the matching colour original "GM" floor mats). New rubber, and gas tank.
It was purchased some time at Deluxe Automobile Ltee' in Sherbrooke Que. (has the dealer sticker on the back)
Some rust in the trunk by the rear part of the wheel wells, and lower rear quarters. Some of the trim has pitting, and the rear bumper has a nice dent in it.
Otherwise, what you see is what you get!

I'm negotiating a price.

I will post build info. and pics on the registry thread.
