Visited a wrecker today (lots of pics)

We went to visit my wife's Ama in Lundar (100 km's north of Wpg) today so I went to check out Eriksdale's wrecker which is only 20 km north of Lundar on Hwy 6.

Lots of cool cars and I was surprised how many 2 door coupes they had.
Only a few Ponchos, a few chevelles/malibus, a few misc and a bunch of Mopars.

The 1st car I spotted walking in... yup, it's a Mopar but you don't see these too often. Very cool.

This one was quite stripped but you don't see these too often either.

The hood from the Chevelle looked mint so I snapped this pic.
The photo turned out a little artistic leaning up against the fence. smile

Yes it's an import but these old Z's are cool.

This malibu wagon was complete and in really nice shape and not much picked from it.

I have a soft spot for Samurai's.
I built a softop version of this truck a couple years ago with a 6" lift and 32" mud tires.
Misc 237.jpg

You don't see old combines next too crx's everyday in a wrecker.
Misc 238.jpg

I took this to ad to the dealer emblem thread.
When I got home and looked at the pics I noticed "Acadian" listed as one of the makes sold by this dealer (bonus). OK no more pot stirring. biggrin

Some sort of old aftermarket ignition box?

Hope you enjoyed... Touring wreckers like this can be highly addictive.
Next time, there's another one 20km before Lundar I'll have to browse.

Glad you all liked the pics.
I was looking for Acadian and/or Chevy II parts but nothing. Also no Beaumonts.
In the end it didn't matter as there was lots to look at and plenty of good parts left for other body styles.

Looking thru a junkyard is kind of like visiting a cemetary with family and friends buried there. We must think of the good times when they were healthy and able to get around. It's sad to think we just use them and discard them so easily. I often think of the cars I've owned in the past and discarded. SWome memories good -others not so good.

The sticker on this truck is from pre 66. My dad still works at the dealer ship. He thinks it changed to Gimli Motors in 66 and then to Giesbrecht and sons in 76. Thanks for the picks

Yeah that makes sense, the truck was a mid 60's.

Thanks for the clarification Vern. smile
You're right I'm not.  I'm french, my wife's dad's side are Icelanders from Lundar.

Back on topic.  If anyone wants to see interior pics of a non-poncho shown above I might have one.

A lot of fine automotive history there, and it looks like a fair amount of good parts still left as well.  Thanks for sharing. thumbsup.gif
