Hmmm...that engine is still very tempting. I should have put a 454 in my car instead of the 396 since it's non-original anyways... i shorted myself 50-60CI in hindsight!

Andrew,  It wouldn't take much to get 500+hp out of this motor. A good cam and some larger valves in these heads and maybe some mild porting. 

Sell that 396 and have some fun with the 454. biggrin

Its tempting! If hadnt already bought my 396, and it runs pretty good, so I have no real reason to get rid of it... i went bbc to detune the car and slow it down from the sbc i had in there, now i miss the power and the rpm, and since i have a nice 12 bolt to put in the car, a warmed over 454 with 396 decals on it would be nice!!

Well turns out that I will be in esterhazy next week or the week after not sure yet. Is this far enough west for you rog??
