Interesting website to find shippers for your toys and their parts..

I've been trying to find an economical way to get a floor and trunk pan shipped from California to my place. The fellow who runs the yard in California (who has been fantastic to deal with) recommended I try "Uship.com" I tried it out tonight. It's pretty neat. Simply put, you list your goods, where they are to be picked up and where they are to be shipped. You must specify the size and weight and, if you wish the max you are willing to pay. Photos also help. Your listing (which is a lot like Ebay) gets posted for a maximum of two weeks. There are several categories to place your listing (mine went into Auto Parts) and if there is a shipping company that want's the job, they will "bid" on the job. You can then pick the company you wish to go with.

You can check out my listing HERE

There are hundreds of shipping companies registered and they all have a feedback rating much like Ebay. There are quite a few companies that will haul cars- perfect for that rust free Southern or Western car you've been drooling over...

I'll keep you guys posted as to whether I have any success with this.

I haven't looked at your link yet but it sounds like what my cousins use at their trucking company. They call it the "Link" and they post up there when you want a car shipped or something like that if they can't do it when you call.

Thanks for posting this info on the shipping. Can you also let us know who is the yard/parts supplier you are using? The ones I have dealt with in AZ and CA haven't been overly helpful with the exception of Impala Bob's who were great. But I need some Pontiac sheet metal. Please PM me if you don't want to post the info.
Thx.

No Problem. The yard is called "Big M Auto" 271 N. 7th st. Williams, Ca. 95987.
I can't get their website to load lately but their email is bigmauto@colusanet.com. The owner is John Fowlie. He used to specialize in old Mercs (hence the name "Big M") but branched out to some other makes. He buys the finned mopars from guys who want to use them for demo derbies. Email him and if he doesn't have what you need he may be able to find it for you. The guys on the Forwardlook website speak highly of him. As I said so far he has been very helpful.

I recently used Kindersley Transport to ship 4 doors and a quarter from MN to Calgary.
It worked well $267. You have to do it under commercial not personal use. It took 3 days from their yard to my work. If you have questions about details PM me and I will tell you what I know.

Wow $1700 and you have to do your own customs paperwork and if you did it wrong do they take your parts off at the border?

Ya, that's the only "bid" I have so far. I think I'll skip that one...

They said quotes within 24 hours. It's been over 3 days, and still not one quote! Grrrrr!
