Great day! (Caution---parental bragging in this post............)

Our son has been gone the last two days, about 3 hours away at the Manitoba Junior Varsity Volleyball championships. Our little school, a whopping 250 students has a reputation for being good at volleyball. The team went in ranked #1 in the province, so a lot of pressure on them. They did us proud and are coming home right now with the trophy, a first for our son Parker.

He's the airborne one in this picture!

As you can see, he's enthusiastic. The part I like the best is that enthusiasm is carried over into cars as well for him!

Congratulations. He's not just tall but has got great vertical too. That will be a great memory. There aren't that many kids that actually get to win a provincial championship at any level of any sport. For most it's just fun to get to the play downs. Enjoy. By the way have you converted the car in your avatar to a Fred Flinstone model. Looks like it will be pretty easy on fuel.

its great watching volleyball, my youngest brother played in highschool, college, and now goes to tournements all over Canada and the States. I love when hes at the net and the power they have when they spike that ball is very impressive. Good for your son winning and i hope he enjoys the sport for many years. I was a basketball player, im the short one in the family at 6 ft. and both younger brothers are 6'5 and 6'6, and they both play hockey, thats like 7ft on skates !! LOL. And you should brag all you want when your proud of your kids!!!

Congrats to your son Carl! It's great when our kids succeed. My son just got his first mid term report for Grade 9. An 84% average!

Yes,  he seems to have a great vertical. Basketball is actually the game he loves. He can pretty much dunk a volleyball now, the goal is to dunk the basketball in 2 years (grade 12)

No, didn't do the Flinstone conversion! Besides, it would be a front wheel drive in my avatar!!!

Good going Carl. You must be a very proud poppa.
My son won the 1/4 finals in Football with the semi final Sunday...then hopefully to the final. I'll be struting like a proud rooster if we win that. Isn't it awsome to watch your kid in a sport.

My wife just told me a story about the boys yesterday that brought tears to my eyes.

Yesterday, the boy's first game, they sucked! She said they won but that they had not played well. Before the next game one of the mom's had walked by the team room and seen one of the boys sitting there with his head in his hands. She thought that the coach was likely reaming the boys out for how they had played. Nope, not it at all. The coach was praying, as they do before every game. And he does not pray for victory, he prays that they will give to the best of their God given talents, that's all.

I just looked at the team picture. If you can believe this, every last person in the picture including the coaches come from a 2 parent home and all but one are homes where both parents are good solid Christians. And that one home may well be the same, I don't know the parents there. That to me is an incredible thing in this day and age, to have a group that big with such a great foundation!

I agree.  That obviously isn't the norm but it's great to see kids getting all the support that they can because believe me they will need it.  My hat is off also to all the single parents out there who just give it there all to make it happen for their kids.  I think for most people even though not Christian will appreciate what our country was founded on and the basic Christian principle is definetely in giving.  Look at even our soldiers, what's in it for them?  Not much but what a possible sacrifice.  Good to hear Carl and Carl.  Where's you other brother?

Yup, 24 years and counting!

I am very blessed. Very few people enjoy getting up and going to work in the way that I do.

Good on him shows the locals he supports them and there families. Probably why they pulled the dealer ship not a big enough dick head. Has feeling not just in it for the money.
