You are a good man there Steve, great to watch your persistence. Who knows someday may see that wagon on the road.

Steve, I can't get your second picture to load, but from what I can see on the dinky picture it's looking good.

Steve - I'm new to Cobourg and understand you live here. I've got 3 69 convertibles - one a 2+2 and two Parisiennes. Had a hardtop Grande that I'm using to upgrade one of the convertibles. In any event - would love to have a look at your project some time - perhaps take some dimensions off your rotisserie as I need to construct one.

Al

Welcome Al! I grew up in Cobourg and my family still lives there. It's great to have another Canadian Poncho owner in the Cobourg Chapter!

ring gear is a long in the leg, 41 over 15, i could change the gears but i'm thinkin the 454 with a non over drive 400 the highway gears would be more desirable. i'm switching out the carrier to something a lttle more positive.

2.73 would be good with a TH400. My 69 427 GP had a 2.56 12 bolt posi which I put into the 67 GP wagon with the 396. Loved that setup for cruising long haul. On a week long trip to Montana that wagon averaged almost 23 mpg. I still have the trip log to prove it because people think it's not possible with a 396.

There is a place in the industrial units by Pearson Airport that manufactures Catalina metal. I know for sure they have quarters available for '64 Catalinas. It might be them.

so thanxs to 70 SS ACADIAN i now a series 2 posi carrier. it was missing most of its guts but the series 3 used the same parts. heres a pic of both side by each to give you an idea how much the ring gear is moved over. the one with the ring gear is a series 2 the empty case is the 3. the second pic is a truck 12 bolt series 4. stock car 2 series. 2 series posi then the naked 3 series.

At first glance, I hoped that wasn't my old 12 bolt!!

But the cutup red fenders were a shock to see Stephen. Hopefully they helped the project forward for you.

Kudo's to you all round!!

Cheers, Mark

the 12 bolt is the original single legger that came with the car, i figure with a 454 plus pulling a trailer a posi would be an asset. sorry about the rear inner fenders but not much is going to waste on your old car, its getting at least 2 rags back on the road.
