If they know its a Canadian car why do they have a US flag in the back widow.

They also have smoked glass, fuzzy dice and leopard spot floor mats ... just a tacky treatment for a nice car.

They are all called "Yank Tanks" over there.

Or 'American Cars'...which was what dealers, magazines, owners called them when that car was new and older, despite Canadian-sourcing usually. Note the illegal number plates (rego plates). No 2-doors were sold here as official imports. Save for convertibles!

I didn't realize you were in "ol' Blighty". Is there much demand for these old Pontiac's over there?
I hear it's expensive to register and for storage. But that was from a friend that lived in London. He wanted to buy a Fiero here in Ontario and ship it home until he figured out the costs.

Hey Oracle!

I know there are still some other 64 Convertibles in the UK like mine, plus a very nice Safari in Silvermist Grey.   Any idea where any of them are and if they are members?

I could do with a RHD dash chrome, either without radio hole or with the correct radio hole, plus I also need rear boot trim which is too expensive to ship from N. America.

Cheers!

Hi!

This site has some nice '64 cars...I have seen a few in my time.
http://www.pontiacuk.com/index.html

There is always a demand for Pontiacs, now...the big problem, literally, is where in heck can you store it? Garages are just not big enough.

I have no idea about parts supplies though. I used to write for RESTORED CARS Australoa and they used to carry an advert from a Canadian company that sold parts for Canadian cars exported to or assembled in Aussieland. I personally would place an advert in CLASSIC AMERICAN mag.

Oh, as to costs it used to be the rule of thumb to convert an import's price in $ to that of £Sterling because of all the charges.
