RE: 1967 SD 396 'vert- For Sale- not mine

OK Guys-one more time

Beaumonts are hot right ?

they were quoted here "the holy grail of 'A' body GM's"

SD396 is most desired

red is amongst the best or most desired original colors-with black interior !

#'s match is important

documentation is important-this one has a member on this site thats owned it in 1979 !!!

67's are the most sought after year

its a ragtop !!!

this could be a holy grail for real

does it make sense to build a Bolero Red 67 SD396 ragtop as tha last car?

Question is...Are we all going to be kicking ourselves in a few years from now saying " I could have owned the "HOLY GRAIL"   you fool, stupid guy, idiot, moron, what were you thinking     unbelievable  $24,000.00   shoot me!"

Of all the pictures posted of the car, it's the ralley's with the TA's (like you've posted)that do it for me...  If only...

Yes, at the time, I was running a tire shop, so I could try all the different combos...  I installed the 396 emblems and the rally wheels   loved that look   I traded that car, for a freshly paint orange original Z28, and 1200.00  no

I'll be puting the ralley/TA combo on my '66 before sping.  Not sure if it will replicate that look/stance, but I am looking forward to it.
Re the Camaro, I think I have have seen a picture of it in the thread of random car pictures.  If not, hoping you can post it?

Carl, just so you dont keep beating yourself up over this car.... if you would have taken your $2950 from 30 years ago and averaged it in the market until today you would have earned almost $50,000! and if you adjust for inflation almost $30,000! confuse

perhaps someone better with #s here can test these $$$... just kinda puts these coulda-woulda-shoulda stories in perspective...

And if you could have kept only one of them (disregarding resale value) it would be the...?

Well-I've had way over 200 cars in my day-probably 50-60 good quality mainstream collector pieces. Theres only one I wish I wouda kept-the others I would like to have but only one I shoulda kept.

Carl-67 beaumonts/chevelles have always been my favorite-yet I woulda dealt for the Z too-it make financial sense-and for you to have kept the "holy grail" all these years it would have cost more than buying it right now ! not to mention all the fun you had driving different cars.

Not sold yet Ken. I really can't understand it. I was able to extend my deadline for a few days so let's see what happens.

I've been thinking about this one a lot this week. If I lived in Ontario I would have made every attempt to see the car by now, and likely made every attempt to find a way to do the deal. I have a 66SD rag (327 2sp) and am faced with spending a fair amount to bring it up to snuff. Would it make sense to sell the '66 and pay the difference to get the "holy grail" which is a BB, with BB hood, an extra gear, rust free etc? Probably. However, with the distance, the time of year, the lack of space, and not being able to see it in person...the temptation is easier to pass up.
While driving the kids to school this morning I asked them if they would be ok selling the "squeeky blue car" and getting a "squeeky red one", to which they both chimed in...Noooo! (Already at their young age, too many good memories.)
I've never owned a BB. Looks like I possibly never will...
