I've been thinking about this one a lot this week. If I lived in Ontario I would have made every attempt to see the car by now, and likely made every attempt to find a way to do the deal. I have a 66SD rag (327 2sp) and am faced with spending a fair amount to bring it up to snuff. Would it make sense to sell the '66 and pay the difference to get the "holy grail" which is a BB, with BB hood, an extra gear, rust free etc? Probably. However, with the distance, the time of year, the lack of space, and not being able to see it in person...the temptation is easier to pass up.
While driving the kids to school this morning I asked them if they would be ok selling the "squeeky blue car" and getting a "squeeky red one", to which they both chimed in...Noooo! (Already at their young age, too many good memories.)
I've never owned a BB. Looks like I possibly never will...

You have a sweet car-and you've owned it all these years !

Not sold yet Ken. I really can't understand it. I was able to extend my deadline for a few days so let's see what happens.

The usual-everyone searching for the "Holy Grail" then they don't know what it is when they find it.

anyway good luck on the sale of the car-I'm sure it'll go but you need a serious player on this one I guess.

Any truth to the rumour that it may be the last 67 Beaumont that came down the assembly line?...

How does one find out from GM? Is it as simple as asking them?

I would imagine George would answer that-can't hurt to ask.

possibly-but he might not have thought of looking if the question wasn't asked.

If we find out its the last one-I'll be sorry I didn't sell the house to buy it !

OK guys-opinions

whats it worth ?

whats a fair price to pay ? or sell at ?

maybe its not the price ?

maybe its the economy or the competition in the marketplace or the condition of the car or ? or ? or ?

I'm just wondering-seems a year ago or so everyone was looking for one-now its here and not really any serious interest I think.

Tough question.  Clearly it's only worth as much as the most that someone is willing to pay.  Ebay reaches far and wide, yet it sounds like the highest offer to date is maybe $25k US?  Therefore, when that offer was made I'd say that was what this rare car is/was worth (despite it being worth more than that to the owner.)
Have the value of these/our cars dropped?  Absolutely, even though I for one hate to admit it.  Personally, I don't think it's the price of this rare car that's the issue.  I just don't think it's an option for most right now to make a purchase.  Therefore the seller must make it more attractive in order to do a deal.  Bottom line, it's a buyers market...but only if the seller wants/needs to participate in a buy high, sell low scenario.  If he doesn't, good luck finding a similar one...
Buy it!  You're looking to keep it, not to flip it!  (Just one chubby, middle aged guys opinion.)

a few years ago it seems people were asking 50,000 for 67 and 68 SD hardtops
only seems reasonable $75000 ,only 66 made ,only a dozen or less known?

of that half are junk!

original drivetrain,colour/interior

dont want to sound like barrett Jackson, lol

if you really wanted one how many chances do you get, they dont come up for sale to often.

im sure Helmut and bill are keeping theirs

if i had $25000 , could flip my cougar fast ,this is the car id buy,no questions

deal of the year
