Might be worth mentioning that for those out there that may be hesitant of doing the deal as a result of percieved complications with moving and storing the car at this time of year, David had mentioned some flexible options with regards to storing the vehicle until spring...

Not a chance my friend. Not a chance. I am about ready to call it all off. If it has not sold very soon it will be off the market again. Time is of the essence so all those interested parties out there don't take this opportunity for granted.

I am sure, you have given everyone, enough time, to purchase the "Holy Grail"
I don't forget, whats its like, to be in a time squeeze..  I have a couple of cars and a house that are going to be "blown out the door" in the next days..
I bought a lot of cars, from Leo's Auto Sales in Seaforth On. over the years..
He had a sign, on the sales office door, that said  "MONEY TALKS-BULL**** WALKS"  We never messed around.   We just got the deals done lol

I wish I had a way, to loan you some funds, to get you by this peroid...  but maybe 2010 will get us some relief   Carl

Your right-"Money Talks B.S. walks" now for conversation sake-lets have the "real" money on the table - make your bids-tell us what you'll pay ! doesn't matter if he'll take it or not-I wanna hear and many others wanna hear what a buyer will pay for the "Holy Grail" !!!

Probably many reasons for people not posting here.
No money.
No interest.
Don't want to reveal strategy.
No space.

I thought about it and decided not to participate because I don't want to offend anyone. This is a pretty "public" forum and we are discussing a member's car.

Good points

but I'll say the biggest reason is there are only 3-4 real players for the car-the current economy is playing into their hands to "try" to buy something cheap. They are also concerned how far things might fall. And the biggest deterant is probably the lack of serious interest- We all prefer to buy something when everyone else takes interest.

The rest are sitting on their hands not interesting in buying-just dreamn' about what its worth.

This is a driver, #'s, big block rag-appears complete, with what appears to be an honest description and a good history-one of only 66 ever produced.

I trust David will not be offended by honest dollars on the table-he has already said he won't take less. David was going to post it on e-bay with a reserve and watch the bidding-but I basically told him to avoid the tire kickers and just post your bottom dollar with no reserve.

I already have a 67 big block rag. My number would be a buy and flip eventually, so not representative of an SD enthusiast. Dave already said he wouldn't take less and I would have to do that. Also already have too many. The missus would kill me. But for someone needing cash tomorrow, I could make it happen.
Like I said, no point offending for something that shouldn't happen.

Thanks David- I've been doing my best but it seems my desperate cries may even be hampering the sale. That and everyones a little gun shy (time of year, economy etc...) and what the other guy said

I don't even know how you can compare a 67 GTO to what I have, maybe I misunderstood your post but really there is no comparison. Even I used to own a 1965 GTO Tri Power Convertible in 1982 and that is way more rare than a 67 GTO.

I always hear  people from Canada mention that these cars should stay in Canada.
I cannot believe someone hasn't snatched this car up. I realize the economy is bad but man I would think someone who knows and understands what this car is would buy it. No Canadian dealers interested?  This isn't meant to be a negative post. I just can't believe this car hasn't sold. In the states people seem a bit wary of these cars as they really don't understand what they are. Has the market dropped so far that a Big Block SD 396 Convert with all sorts of history and totally intact isn't worth  26k? Maybe my cars aren't worth as much as I thought. Maybe it's a sign of the times. Wonder what a 325hp 396 Chevelle in similar condition would bring. This car deserves more respect.  Come on Canadians , someone step up to the plate !!!!

what he said

Yeah Ken it sure does look like a nice project! and whats it worth with a nice restoration?

Dave, my post was refering more to Carls post right above it (which was since edited)... there was a link to a restomod tempest or something like that... so yes a comparison was being made apples to oranges... but the discussion was flipping into value... a 67 gto #s, 4 speed car is no slouch...

i have a pretty good idea on production numbers of these cars, but rarity alone doesnt make the price. value=desirability/rarity+condition ...a car can be super rare in a limited market, which is the beaumonts curse... but it does make them fun to own nonetheless...

i really thought your car would have been gone last friday to the US buyer at $24k cdn.... i really thought that price is getting in the ballpark... but it seems like the rational buyers are crunching numbers and holding off, and the emotional buyers dont have that money to toss out there right now...

Bingo ! except I think Carl was posting a clean red ragtop for a price showing what its in competion with-most buyers are shopping in a price range not a particular car

I understand Carl, i wasnt criticizing you, thats why i put another one up that i thought was even closer for debate, a numbers matching GM muscle car that needs restoration, and then wanted to take some guesses on what the gto is worth restored... of course any car thats put up for discussion cannot be compared to the 'holy grail' in terms of production numbers, but desirability may be closer in comparison...

a guess-

a 67 GTO rag with four speed nice restoration would be quite desirable-as for price the market is tough as we can see-I still think high thirties or 40 real money-I sold for a customer a 66 hardtop 389 4-speed at 35 last year
