1968 Pontiac Grande Parisienne 396 - London Ont

I think this belongs to a member.
I can't get the link to work. Here's the ad:

Totally rust free Western province vehicle with factory 396 BBC, turbo 400, and 12 bolt rear end. Nicely appointed with power windows, rear defrost, power antenae, buckets and console. Chrome excellent, frame perfect, very unmolested. Hide away headlights. Still has 1968 only fender emblems for 396 in perfect condition, plus 1968 only Grande Parisienne rocker mouldings, even the always missing ones behind the rear wheels. Interior very good other than cracks in door skins. Dual exhaust.

So many cars, so little time....

Man, what a great example of a rare car.

Hi,

Does that engine look right to you guys ? At least the breather ?

If this is correct, it's making me doubt my 68 2+2, 396.

Notice that mine has the snorkle coming out on the left, not the right like this car.
Ignore my chrome lid. That's from a 70 Corvette. It fit and I thought it looked cool.

It looks the same as my 67's. Don't know if 68 is supposed to be the same or not.

THE AIR CLEANER ON MY '68 427 HAS THE SNORKLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE LIKE SCOTTS. I WOULD THINK THE 396 SHOULD BE THE SAME.

What's the asking price?  I'm always hesitant to look seriously at any car in primer, as it really covers lots of questionable bodywork. I'd rather see the car in it's original state, then you can make an informed decision on the purchase.

$10,000 seems like a deal if it is as good as described...

It does belong to CP member Pont427 (Dave). I'm sure he'll chime in if you guys have any questions.

Nice. It has the 68 Impala SS interior in two tone. Nice colors.

To StriperSS, this car is grey in colour, not in grey primer. If it was in grey primer I would have said it is in grey primer. If you read the ad properly you would see the colour is grey, not grey primer. Owner.

I did see that, but many people call primer grey too. So what seems clear to you may not be so clear to others. Sorry to offend you.
Plus the actual ad was posted after I posted.

I just have to say...I'm thinking 20 year old Blitz Black at first glance...you can't deny that the grey looks, well... like grey primer. Sometimes the picture makes up our mind before we actually read the add. Has anyone not? No need for any negatives on Cp.

Anyway, without research...what colour is the interior. Gold..Green? Numbers?

It's an awsome car in every way. In my mind the 68 Gp grille always looked like a concept...that actually became production. In a minute it'd be mine...just one problem.

I like the GP part with the "big block and bucket seats"  If body is "rust free" you could get it painted for 6000  and add 1200 for rubbers and carpet,  Leave engine alone,  add 1000 for exhaust, and 2000 for nice wheels, tires and  2000 for shocks suspension etc...  nice rare car for 22-23,000 smile

Man, I would trade my 57' hardtop for that in a heartbeat. I really like the lines on those 65 and up big cars.

Hmm....maybe my 57' and some cash.....
