RE: December 2009 Feature Car

The 427 4speed 69 2+2 was a 16 year olds wet dream back in 77.
I had to settle for a 350/TH350 combo in my 2+2. But I did have all the adds and stuff for the 427 car, and I at least got to drive a decent 2+2 all over Ontario. I do remember seeing at least two 427 4speed cars in the auto trader back then.
Sweet car, and a good choice for December.
Hope you chime in and tell us more.

Mark

I've forgotten the Selkirk car. The one I saw was triple black. Is that the one?

Selkirk car is gold with black vinyl top and parchment interior.  It was parked in 1973 and wasn't moved until it was pulled out and sold.  I heard it had gone to Edmonton...

I remember the '69s from new. All I ever saw were 350-power cars or the odd six cylinder. I never even saw a 396 version until the late 1970s. 427s? Forget finding those!

Awesome 2+2 for sure. It even has the lower stripes, a nice touch since they disappear with a repaint and never seem to get put back.

We sure are getting some nice and rare Feature Cars each month!

Another car to prove the rarity, beauty and pure horsepower demonstrated by pontiac design teams. That is one true survivor car worthy of every compliment it has recieved, enjoy your ride David.

Beauty Dave, that 390/427 has to be the sweetest motor ever (yeah I had one), it just pulls and pulls and pulls from idle to 6000 (and what more do you need for a street car?), no lifters to adjust, no hassle, just put your foot down and go, and you have that 4500 lb. platform so it is all comfortable ... thumbsup.gif

Beautiful car. I can relate to the 427-390hp 4 speed powertrain as I had that in my 69 Caprice. Highway gears that pulled forever. The interior looks identical to the 69 Caprice. I have never seen a 427 Pontiac car live and in colour yet but some day.
