It's funny, but I have never been into aftermarket wheels. The only car that I have that sports them is my 97 Z28 and ironically what I put on were chrome torque thrusts II's so it would have more a 60's look. When I got my 70 Cutlass in 78 from my Dad that he had bought new, the first thing I did was put a set of Super Stock I wheels on it. Even today the only after market wheel that I have any interest in are the torque thrusts, and only because they were the wheel of choice in the 60's. To me, the aluminum type "Weld" and other similar wheels were ugly in the 70's and they are just as ugly now. Just my
Same for me. My exception is the American Racing Torque Thrust D wheel, which I think looks great on just about any 60s car. And chrome reverse wheels, which you hardly ever see anymore.
Back in 78 I picked up 4 Torque Thrusts, one which had a big chunk out of it. I saved them for the longest time waiting to find a replacement fourth. When I moved away in '92 I gave them to a neighbor who had a 57 Chev thinking he would make sure they found a good home. In retrospect, they had a good home. Damn...
