Window Tint?

How many of you have tinted windows on your classic car?
Anyway, I was wondering, what kind of tint was on mine. It was extremely easy to remove. It was on my back window, and just pulled off EASILY, no glue, nothing. But it stayed on good, but removed easily when I had to take it off. Was it tint or some sort of film?

Mike, sounds like it was film, but that's what the 'tinters" use now. Windows must be "clean" then they wet the glass, put the film on & squeege the water out & bubbles, but I'm surprized it just peeled off!!  I have factory tinted glass in 64 & don't know what the plan for the 52 is yet.  pete

Ya, It just peeled off, extremely easy, I was so surprised. Because my dad wanted to take it off right away. I said we are going need to need alot of supplies to remove the glue, etc. It came off in 1 strip. He picked it off in the corner, and pulled the whole thing off easily, no glue nothing! I was extremely surprised.
Now I am curious as to what the product was, because if its that easy to remove, then I want to try it again. (just in lighter, since you couldn't see out of it at night)

We have a member, who was a tint guy, who still does it, part time..  I/he was trying to find some light greentint, to come close to original...  Most have suggested changing all my windows to original green    Not going to happen no.  I found a place online that makes pre cut tint for my car  Its available at 70%

I am debating with myself, on whether or not to tint the Riviera. I want it to look mean, and have a muscle car look as well.
I was thinking sort of like this...

What do you guys think? except on a 68 Riviera?

haha. If its going to be a problem with the law, then I will forget it.

I go to work at 6 in the morning. My buddy that I work with, says he would be scared sh**less, if he saw my Riviera in his rear view mirror looking like that or saw it in the parking lot that early.

Ya, You couldn't see through it at all, no matter the distance.
But then what product was it. If it peeled off so easily, yet, it looked like a normal tint job?

You can go as dark as you want on the back glass and rear 1/4 windows.Real light tint on your door glass. Both the wife's car and mine have dark tint, but nothing on the front door windows

There are alot of different thing to make it look dark, cars with dark colour intereior look darker over light(black vs tan). The colour of your car too, black cars look dark because the glass and paint then blend together and bright colour cars make it look dark because of the big contrast in colour,Ie yellow, orange etc. the factory tint on the back of vans, suvs and trucks is equal the 20% tint there is one darker 5% and then two lighter 35% and 50%.any more questions feel free to ask.

I don't mind the look of tint but anything we own with it came with it on there. I'm too cheap to pay for tint.

On the other hand, there is a time I hate it and that is driving in the city at night if it's raining. I find it downright dangerous when you are trying to shoulder check for lane changes in those conditions. It hides too much.
