engine degreaser????

Just wanted to poke around and see what people were using/recommend for degreasing an engine.  Just off the shelf at local auto parts store, or something
special you found that works better.  Keep in mind it is filthy.....
Thanks in advance.....

My 6yr old daughter loves these.....

I've used "Gunk" for years, the regular stuff, not the one that says "foaming" on the label

Yup, GM engine shampoo.

The whole line of GM chemicals is hard to beat in almost all cases. Penetrating oil, glass cleaner...

Myself, I like good old reliable Easy Off. There is a pic of a spare 1978 Transam W72 Pontiac 400 I cleaned with easy off, rinsed at the carwash (not very environmentaly friendly) and spray painted.

When you're using this stuff probably not a good idea to do it in your driveway i'm guessing?
I'd like to use it on the Trans Am but all the wiring all over the place i'm a bit apprehensive.
