Deep Fried Christmas Turkey

With over 30 people here for Christmas dinner today, I tried deep fring a turkey. Picked up the pot an oil from TSC . Lbs to 3 1/2 minutes worked out to 1 hour cooking time at 350. We checked at the hour mark and he needed another 10 minutes. Turkey turnned out great! Has anyone else try this?

I've done a few that way but usually in the summer time. They are fantastic tasting. At Christmas though the bird is done in the oven so we can have the smell of turkey cooking in the house all day.

Been there and done it, also you need to pel your spuds and toss them in whole while the bird is doing, when they float they are done They taste great, be careful to check that some spuds don't stick on bottom of pot
