So Astro Jet and I are lucky to know JB our local mechanic & hot shoe, car collector, Juke box collector, Coke machine Collector and collector of all things from our days of youth.
JB and his #1 employee Adrian have another passion besides cars and that is rocking roll music from the 50's and 60's. They have a band called PLAYBACK and Hillar, Mary and me plus 65Camino took in their gig last night at the Victoria & Albert on Lawrence Avenue in Scarborough. We had a blast.
Hillar and I have decided that Joe and Adrian are a must see act for all Canadian Poncho members and we are going to see if we can't orgnaize something this cruise season.

You guys would love JB and Adrian. In his shop and his own collection, and I'm going from memory:
1959, Cadillac Sedan De ville, 1957 Bel Air - Nashville dealer plate on it, 1964 Falcon convertible, 2 T buckets, 1968 4 speed 326 Firebird, 1927 Pierce Arrow, 1980 Z28, 1976 Formula 400, 1978 Lincoln Mark, 1956 Ford 2dr sedan, 1966 Thunderbird. In my warehouse, 1956 Ford pickup, 1977 Regal and a 1970 Chevelle stock car.
I stop by at least twice a week. Very often the sound system is looping a track that they are trying to learn, this past week it was "Daddy's Home" and "Steamroller Blues" I go over there and we are all singing along while they work on customer's cars. Like we said must meet guys.
Could not have said it better Ray. Joe and Playback are amazing. They have an incredible repetoire that streches from the mid 50's to the mid 70's. They go seamlessly from Elvis to Dion to The Beatles to The Rolling Stones to CCR to BTO, the list just goes on and on. They played 3 sets 1:20 long each! And because Joe is into cars and cruise memoribilia himself, he knows where we are coming from. As far as I'm concerned, they are the ultimate car show cruise band. If Ray and I can't manage to organize some sort of event for them to play it, they would be perfect for the Fleetwood Country Cruize In. I think Ray is going to try and snare them for the local Lions Club Canada Day celebration next year as well.
Joe's shop/warehouse/museum/practice facility/juke box coke machine lounge has to be seen to be believed. Like Ray said, it can more like a social club when people drop by, the tunes get cranked, the BBQ fired up, cold drinks come out and everyone gets into song. When I finally get around to posting a member's ride thread about the 2+2 and the phenomenal custom work he did on my exhaust, you just might catch some sights of what Ray has mentioned in the background.
In the meantime:
