Anybody gone to Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale? Is it worth going?

Had hoped to do a southern holiday in mid to late January but my wife took a different position with her health care work and they'd prefer her not to take holidays for 3 months until her project is over. I had joked to her previously about doing BJ if she's not able to go so when she came home Friday she said I should head to Arizona then so am wondering if it's worth it.  Be interested to hear your feedback.

I've been to many different classic car auctions and had a great time, but I've never been to the B-J. I've heard it's a experience to never forget. Go for it. Don't buy your 1st time out..........,Well try not to get too caught up in it. There actually is some good buys in this recession for those among us who can afford to hold long term.

I'd be going strictly as a spectator, hands in pocket.  Sure has me tempted.

You only live once. Get a bidders card to allow you access in the bidding area as well. Have a good time biggrinbiggrin

Sounds like it's on your bucket list, and the time is right. Enjoy the oppurtunity, with WestJet now flights are cheap. Probably be the most spectacular car show imaginable.

It's worth going to once.  We went to Scottsdale in 2005, and bought tickets early for the discount.  Go, you'll have a great time.

I enjoyed it in 2009. I got a bidders card which cost a few hundred dollars which I felt was worthwhile. It got me parking for my car, parking for my butt when I wanted it and a few free drinks every day.
There are a number of other auctions in the area which I hear are worth investigating as well.
It's a great "show".

When is it?

Maybe we need to meet and share expenses.....!

Mostly a dream for me but a dream can be the start of something.

It's the 18 to the 24.  I'm thinking of being there for the Thurs, Fri., and Saturday and fly out the Sunday.  Friends of mine were over today and they were down there a few weeks ago and they suggested flying into Vegas and it's a 5 hour drive from there.  They rented a car for a little over 200 bucks for the week and stayed in Vegas a couple days.  I'm thinking of that because the flights are quite cheap, around 250 return I think with taxes in so will check that out.
