No, didn't work, she made a compromise, as we speak the prime rib roast is in the oven with all the fix'ns, my favourite so dinner at home BUT movie still on. She just asked me if I bought the tickets yet, so I turned on the computer and Ooooops I started posting here...........
Ya, well downtown it melts away pretty fast since much of the downtown is underground there is a lot of heat in the roads and sidewalks, there are a few banks here and there, once you get up north of Sheppard there is snow, but so far it has been really cold but light on the snow in the city proper. We did have snow on Christmas Eve but its gone withthe rain we had in the city.

Well we went to the show. I was skeptical especially when I noticed that Mary and I were the youngest in line, but after watching I'd say if you are late 40's and up you'll get most of the humour and soft soap bits.
For me Alex Baldwin makes the picture, he is hillarious and in a lot of ways he reminds me of me, and he must have reminded Mary of me too since I got a few pokes and slaps on the arm. Steve Martin is useless, Meryl Streep is the Queen of all actreesses alive today so she turned in her regular outstanding perfomance and at 60 looked great doing it.
John Krasinski is also great in a supporting role as the son-in-law to be, a very strong performance.
I think you will have a few good laughs at this one, not overly "Chicky" but as as said Baldwin saves this one from being too smoltzy. I am still being sick at the sight of Steve Martin in this movie and he even got billing ahead of Baldwin....what a pussy Martin is.
Lookie Here.....Snow ! - New Years day, just heading out to Grandma's for dinner. We take the Fleetwood when the five of us go somewhere, the girls in the back and Goose drives and I ride Shotgun. I say, If you have a limo might as well use it.
Our car awaits the older folks as we leave Grandma's

Boy, that all looks about the opposite of our 35 acres of bush, farmland and wildlife.......
Not much culture here I'm afraid. Most colourful thing in our yard is the yellow snow where I've been outside walking around looking at tracks!!!
Don't sell yourself short Carl! Try going for a walk down by the bridge on the edge of the Red. Some of the most beautifull scenery you will ever behold. I have allways loved that walk around this time along that bridge. My wife and I have done this for years.
Here's where My wife and I spent some quality time together on the 19th of Dec. A lovely dinner at Ray and Jerry's http://www.raeandjerrys.com/ Then off to A wonderfull radio version of "Its a Wonderful Life" At http://www.mtc.mb.ca/newseason.aspx Then back home feeling much more in the Spirit of the Season. Ahh the Holidays can be such a great time for the soul!!
Rae & Jerry's looks nice, I'm glad others enjoy the festive spirit of the season too!
That Radio show sounds great too, I have a hard time expalining to my kids how we listened to the radio shows and Foster Hewitt call the games. It was a real talent to do radio and paint the pictures with words. I still enjoy listening from time to time to CBC or PBS radio shows.
