I've been on the POCI site quite a bit, & they are not getting much activity over there. I said I'd ask, over here,if any of the POCI members are checking out the site & maybe get some thing going on the Canadian section over on their site, or their general topic section as well??? www.poci.org

old white pontiac stories? old car bought, to duplicate car, of dead high school friend? stories of old Beaumonts owned, and found to be the holy grail? lol Sorry can't think of anything
Maybe they'd get more traffic if they would just let people in without a password to have a brouse around. If they like it they might join. The password wall is a deterrent imop.

X3 Even the Porsche Club of America lets you browse the site and forums, although there isn't much to see!
IT WOULD SEEM TO ME THAT IF THERE IS NOT MUCH HAPPENING THERE ON THE CANADIAN SECTION IT'S BECAUSE WE HAVE ONE RIGHT HERE THAT IS FREE (DONATIONS ALWAYS WELCOMED!). I THINK THIS SITE IS THE BEST FORUM OUT THERE FOR OUR CARS, I DON'T SEE ANY ADVANTAGE TO JOINING THEIR CLUB. MOST "REAL" PONTIAC GUYS GIVE ME A HARD TIME ABOUT MY "CHEVY" POWERED PONTIACS ANYWAYS. THANKS, BUT NO THANKS...
Much further than that for me - but maybe that's when I should test out the family car virtues of the just completed 62 Parisienne 4 dr sedan. But no AC - maybe not ...
Was just there. Convention for 2010 is in Charleston West Virginia (610 miles from Owen Sound and 11 1/2 hours drive!)
Chris, you must drive faster than I do or you don't have the better half with you. We do that trip every yr. in June in the 64 Catalina to a local show there. Takes us 12 to 14 hrs with all tha PEE stops. It works out to just over 650mi from just north of Oshawa!!! Did it in 10hrs flat the 1st. time but no women involved but lots of gas, 2nd quad was starting to "dump" at 65 to 70mph

I know a lot of Canadian Pontiac owners felt like you, and I would include myself in that group. There is no forum on there like this. We have a comradrie here that is hard to duplicate anywhere BUT the POCI assisting with establishing a Canadian Pontiac Chapter has legitimised our cars when in the past we were owners of orphans. Canadian cars have now been recognized by the largest Pontiac club in the world and given a status that was unthinkable even 5 years ago. The fact is Canadian Pontiacs are unique, interseting and desireable. This is something worth celebrataing. I for one can't accept the view of "Their Club" and "No Thanks' I suggest that if you really were proud of your Canadian car with it's Chevrolet engine the best way to demonstrate that is to be a part of the growing ground swell of Canadians and Americans who appreciate and are gaining an appreciation of these cars. Yes, there is an education process underway but when you consider that Canadian production was only ever 10% of US production then factor in the survival rate we have some of the rarest and most desireable Pontiacs ever built.
I have had my car parked side by side with a US model and I can tell you all you will hear is praise and admiration. It is very interesting comparing differences and sharing a common interest with our US cousins.
Here is my blue car built in Oshawa with a Chevy engine beside a US model with a Pontiac engine from New York near Buffalo, Bill Markowski owner. We met in Hamilton at HMP Pontiac and had a great time comparing cars and building a friendship.

When my wife and I attended the Pontiac Co-vention in Dayton this year there was nothing but positive remarks about our Acadian. Many People even thanked us for bringing it to the show. I have been in the U.S. with car many times (Woodward, Frankenmuth, Dayton, Columbus, Madison ) and have been cordially received. Our Canadian cars always draw huge interest and I welcome the opportunity to educate all those interested in the origin of these vehicles. I am still thinking of going to the Pontiac Convention in Charleston West Virginia even though mapquest says 11 1/2 hours.
I'm planning on going "if" the 64 Catalina does not sell, the 52 Torpedo back won't be ready in that short space of time, Or if I win the lottery it might be!!!
