Idler pulley?  biggrin     "jockey pulley" is new to me   Love it...

               Idle Pulley
English words defined with "idle pulley": Mule pulley. (references) ... Spannrolle (idler, jockey pulley, jockey wheel, loose pulley, tensioning roller). ...

The origens of the Chevrolet Kommando:

The HQ GTS Monaro was launched in 1971. This was a totally new body shape. The grille reflected the European Opel and the back bumper with the inset lights came from an American Pontiac GTO. The HQ was thought to be the most radically revamped of the Holden since 1948. The HQ was produced through to 1974.  So there is a bit of Pontiac in the car!!! biggrin Slowly but surely!smile

Spent today prepping the engine and box for fitment to the Kommando.  As you know, all exports are drained of all fluids. Pity that they have to punch a hole in the sump of the auto box. Some pics to show you the condition of the box (700R) and my repairs.
Still need to figure out how to keep the O/D in auto and not locked.  My 3.55 dif is too quick!  Need a 3.36 diff. Have one in the el Camino but not going to fiddle!

I love the look of that even more than the North American ones. Great lines. What do guys do that are retired and have no hobbies? You must keep yourself busy. Looking good.

All depends on the $$$$$smile  I have two motors that I can fit;

a "Bullitproof"1975 250CID that is in good running order but no auto Box and
a Edelbrock Buick V6 Performer complete with TH350 that I need to check out.
My work contract has been extended by two monhs, who knows?
Had two fellow workers here from Parma, Loved the Canadian Malibu!

Look Closer! The second engine is a V8!  The first is a 250CID High Option Motor.  I have one in the Malibu and gives a lot of people a big surprise.  Does the Quarter Mile in 20 seconds! Not bad for an old Lady!

Will put lead in its pencil!biggrin  Put some Zuma under the bonnet.

Hullo  Craigd,
Great to see you've joined this forum. Some great guys to talk to.

Glad those badges came out good. They are better on a really good el Camino than on mine that going to become a highly modified ute and have superficial repairs.  Know of a 327 motor that I can get.  Depends on the $$$$

Johann

Hi Johann,

Dave here from St. Francis Bay. I happened on this forum by chance while looking for Kommando's on the web. My mom used to drive a standard 4.1 straight six 1974 model that i hoped I would take over. my dad sold it when I was sixteen and that was the end of it. i am now looking to get one if I can find one in driveable condition. It is to use to get to work and back (only three km's) but as a project car that I can put a v8 in at a later date etc.

Yours looks great and i'm looking forward to seeing the progress.

Dave
