RE: 1975 Chevrolet Kommando (Holden Premier)(Chevelle)

Came across an interesting photo while looking for a photo of a '74 Pontiac. This is a Holden Monaro tweaked a bit...

nice work that car has come a long ways for sure. Are you using a base clear or a single stage? You must be a panelbeater by trade!

Hullo Timbuk,
The paint is a single stage with a catalist known as 2k. The work is being done by a panelbeater friend of mine. He has his own business.  Each piece of rust has been cut out and new sheets hand-formed and tick-welded in place.  The body has no Bondo!  That is the reason for the great finish!

The Monaro cars are becoming serious collector's items and the price is going up by the day!  Especially the HQ models.  They are the best selling car ever sold in Australia!  The one in the photo is around 1977 or later. The HQ ceased production in 1974. Lights were in the bumper like the Pontiac GTO of about 1972

Pardon my terminology. (Tick) This project has now been on the go for the past 11 months.  This weekend I am taking a break and going to our annual local get together with my 65 Canadian Malibu!  My daily driver!  This forum was of great assistance and I am grateful for their support.  Where are you located?

Sorry I only just found this post. Is this the wagon you mean? If so, it was released in July 08, so there won't be any cheap ones around yet. I gave the base 3.0 a test drive a few weeks back and it went like a rocket! The 6.0 V8 SS-V would be awesome.
