Rewired the interior harness and the re-furbished the dash over the last two daysbiggrin  Next task starting tomorrow is to fit the harness, Convert pedals from manual to auto and re-assemble the dash pad.
Here are some pics of how the South African Kommando dash looks like. Hope you enjoy!!biggrin  I've retired after working again for 14 months and decided to take a break and try to get the car complete before Christmassmile  If they need me, the company knows where to find me!!!biggrin

Good Morning to my Poncho friends.

Have been out of touch for a while. Crashed Computer etc.
Did a bench run and appears to be capable of doing 238 Kmh.
That 305 engine without all the emmision control gadgets is potent and is flexing the body!!!

Here are some pics of the Kommando as it is now.  Nearly complete:

No wonder it has taken so long for a new message from you. Only 238 Kmh.

Welcome back.

Note the GTO rear bumper that was used by Holden Australia!  Also the similar body style.

The rear bumper looks like a miniature 69 Bel Air one.

To all the Poncho's!smile
Thanks for all the comments and the pics.  I will be doing a major valet and then take pics to show more detail.  This is surely the best forum around!!aww

I have come across a GMSA AQ series workshop manual and discovered that the Axle Ratio is not 3.55 but 3.23.  Anybody able to calculate theoretical topspeed with the 305 Camaro motor with no emmision control fittings?  Also 700R4 autoboxbiggrin

Believe it or not!!! That Chevrolet script comes from the front of the el Camino grill. (Self placed)  Never knew the 69 Bel Air was placed on the same side.

Thanks for the comment.  Fortunately some of the guys are prepared to swop out or sell at a reasonable price.  The problem comes when you need to import with our poor exchange rate. The resources are there, you need the $$$$$!

The only item that I have not yet found is the two SS stickers that are placed on the front fenders. I was lucky in finding the V8 badges in the cubby of the el Camino!

old threD i know but.....wow! spinout! rebadged australian HQ holdens......talking transmissions they would have had aussie V8s and sixes using the aussie trimatic (some termed them traumatic...) autos. These fit aussie motors only. If you wanted a chev tranny some V8 blocks were turbo pattern. An aussie V8 could be removed and a chev plonked in possibly needing adaptors. More work had to be put into a six to V8 transplant...suspension, brakes etc...
