Cooper Brothers.  Wow,  talk about serendipity.  I was just listening to I'll Know Her When I See Her on eight track

That song kept me encouraged for quite a while I must say.

I can't find it on You tube though.

And speaking of Canadian good times here is a link to a video that was made of me working with a bunch of Douglas A26 Airtankers in 1992 near Grande Cache Alberta.  One of my buddies set  it to Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider which seems really appropriate somehow.  (I'm one of the guys in the birddog plane that goes over with the siren blaring.

Man that was fun and scary!

Wow guys! I think this thing might have wheels!

One of my favorites, an icon of 70's Canadiana that never seems to grow old...

Joni Mitchell, a Saskatchewan babe!  Here is one of the first songs she was known for

Urge for Going about a Canadian fall and how it makes you feel.  In the background of this is Oscar Brand who turns 90 this year and wrote Something to Sing About.  one of Canadas other national anthems and who also was the namesake for Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street.

This will make you think, I think.

Dave Thomas' brother Ian had a number of good hits. This wan't his biggest, but I sure like it. The video ties it into the demise of the station that helped to start it all......1050 CHUM in Toronto. Watch the bit at the beginning of the video and remember what it was like when AM radio was all we had..

Here he is....

cdnpont,

Although most of the music in this video is not Canadian, the Canadian content is sure evident throughout.

How many of you younger guys have heard of Wolfman Jack?

How many knew that he had his own show on 1050-CHUM Toronto? Yes.....Toronto. Mind you, so did Dick Clark and a whole bunch of other super-jocks of the era.

Here's Wolfman from his "air chair" in the hallowed halls of 1331 Yonge Street....

I think if you are talking quintessential canadian... and more recent than the 70s... i HAS to be The Tragically Hip!! ...the best canadian band to never make it south of the border... its like our little secret, like our cars!!

The Tragically Hip, the Beaumont SD of bands!!hahahaha!!!  The car and music of my youth!!

also canadian, Big Sugar, Tea Party, Our Lady Peace....

Here's a few favs!
big sugar -all hell for a basement ...not the real video but the tunes are there, just listen and close you eyes!!....ohhhh....yeah....

too many from the hip to choose from! hows this one? bobcaygeon...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpaTDK7kkNA&feature=related

the tea party -bazaar ....this bands cultural influence and incorporation of world instruments is a great metaphor of canadian multi-cultural acceptance...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCye7v79Tz0&feature=related
