I'm all for getting a GXP but the one's I have my eye on cost a fraction of that, about 1/3rd to be exact....
" Despite it's heaviness Pontiac claims a 0-60 time of six seconds and quarter mile times of 14.3 seconds. Hard not to like the burble of the 275 hp 4-cam Northstar V-8."

I recently received an email from GM that they were discounting the 2009 Pontiacs and Saturns in dealer inventory by something like $7,000 and it was up to the dealer whether or not they passed that on to the customer. That discount, if they choose to pass any of it on, was on top of my employee discount, $1,500 bonus cash and special financing. Unfortunatly, they didn't mention anything about making good on my pension that was passed on to the Federal Gov. with a 2 billion dollar shortage. I didn't bother checking but I'm pretty sure they won't take any of my worthless stock options or zero value GM & Delphi stock certificates as a down payment. I think other than the Acadian, my wife's 2004 Vibe is the only Pontiac in our future.
In September I priced a New G8 GXP with a $4000 discount fully equiped for $36,500. That's the price quote in writing. There were 4 GXPs left in Western Washington at the time and no new ones were expected. They had discontinued building them in the early summer. I think these people are dreaming at $45000 - $50000.
