Can anyone recommend a trustable/honest mechanic in Mississauga? Plus results

Does anyone know of an honest mechanic in Mississauga? I would like to certify the Riviera, without being taken advantage off.
I had one in Newmarket, but I don't want to pay another 300 dollars to tow get it towed there.

Ya, would really like to get it certified ASAP. But some work may need to be done, which I already know. Just who to take it to. I don't want to get ripped off. Like I said, the guy in Newmarket told me what it needed for him to pass certification, which I agree with. Just don't want to pay to tow it all the way down there. If someone on here can recommend someone close by. Even when I had my cruiser, he never charged to check the car or use the OBD reader.

drive the hour and go to Tinys in Ingersoll....you will save with his Honesty and Workmanship!
I worked with him. He is one of if not the most honest wrench out there. He will treat you right.

I know. But the problem is I have to get it towed. Can't drive it there. Can't get a permit because you need a valid certification.

Okay guys. Found a shop 5 minutes away. Hopefully they are honest. The tow will be done tomorrow. Hopefully the damage isn't too much.

I searched on them, and it came up with someone from another forum, that said they had good experience. Someone from work, also said he was okay as well.
I went in, and the guy seemed nice. He sent me next door as well to get a quote for the windshield. it was funny, because when I went next door. the guy that worked there used to be my old neighbor.

Not going good already. When towing, one of my hubcaps flew off into a forest. Good luck finding it.

I hope my luck turns around.

Do you have CAA and would they pay for the tow.
Do you have a buddy with CAA? Seem to remember that as long as he's there CAA will put it on his card.

CAA won't tow an unplated vehicle.
I already paid for the tow.
60 bucks damage done so far.

So, out 60 plus a hubcap, plus the fee. Plus another tow.

Wanted over 2000, plus can't find the parts.

What was listed on the sheet he gave me. I think some kid did this.

"Windshield
Horn didnt work
Marker/tail light out
Park brake goes on, won't release
Brake warning lamp stays on
Some minor holes in the body
PUT ON THE SHEET "REALISTICALLY this car is ****ed! on one thing. +**** here and there.
Let a resto shop deal with it."

Real nice, pricks!!! I understand some of the stuff that needs fixing. But don't write rude things like that on the sheet.
All that for $160 plus a hubcap
Plus even, If i were to go through with it. he says good luck on finding the parts.

If I showed some of you guys 1 part of the sheet. guaranteed you will laugh.

Is there anyone on here with a truck/trailer that could give Mike a break on getting the Buick to Ingersoll? There's enough of us around here that could help get this car on the road. You could drive it back to the shop that did the inspection and give them the finger.

That is just sad. Totally unprofessional.  Writing opinions on an inspection sheet is totally uncalled for. I would not hesitate to share my thoughts on a place like that if someone were to ask me if I had any experience with them.

As Todd stated, it would be nice to get your car on the road and salute them while saying thanks for their efforts...

haha, thanks guys for the responses.

I will scan the sheets they wrote and post it here. I am only posting this because The Lounge is only available to the members of Canadian Poncho.
I have also blanked out my name and address, as well as theirs. Except for the black part at the top, which was written by them and crossed out. It says "Crusty Just for you", blocked out. You might have to save it and make it bigger. (read below, I already made the images larger)

This a terrible way to do business!!

When I sold cars, and got a $100.00 appraisal, I would just tell the customer, that we would not be able to get into "his "price range...

When I sold tires, it took some training, to get the staff, to quit telling the customer his tire was f--cked, and to nicely say, I think your tire is beyond repair!!  lol

these sheets are terrible!!!   We need a big guy to drop in and give them a attitude adjustment (probably waste time)

All they had to do, was take a quick, and tell Mike, the work was extensive, and expensive...  They charged him $100.00 for a WRITTEN insult????

that is lame, horrible way to do business. You should take a bunch of pics for us and the guys on here will tell you if its repairable. Everything is of course, its just that darn money thing!! There are ways to get things fixed, #1 is get the parts, #2 is get the beer,#3 is ask over some friends with tools and some knowledge! Whereabouts are you located?

I would go back and demand an apology and a total refund of whatever you were charged, I would think the manager or owner should fire whoever, wrote that up then I would go to the local chamber of commerce and complain....that whole thing was totaly uncalled for
