This 1970 Plymouth Superbird is one of only 65 Toy Red 440ci 4-speed Hurst Pistol Grip Superbirds ever built. This numbers-matching, 24,080 original-mileage car has undergone a full rotisserie restoration.

The 440-4v was factory rated at 375hp with an outstanding 480 ft pounds of torque. A 3.54:1 Dana 60 rear end is coupled to a Hurst Pistol Grip shifter 4-speed transmission. The "Track Pack" and "Sure Grip" rear axle was standard equipment on all 4-speed cars.

Built one year only, the Superbird dominated the NASCAR racing circuit reaching average speeds over 149mph at Daytona's 2.5 mile tri-oval raceway and 147mph at the ARCA Stock car race. The incredible speeds were helped by the big wing that set the Superbird a world apart from all other car makers. Soon to be outlawed the big winged warrior was banned from racing due to its dominance of the racing circuit and was never built again. A total of just 1935 Superbirds were built, of which only 458 were 440 4-bbl examples. For car manufacturers to qualify their cars for racing, the same car had to be made available to the public to purchase.

Celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, this car is clearly a collectors dream.

A very thorough package of documentation of the history of these GREAT WINGED WARRIORS accompanies the car to include the announcement In August 1969 of the release of the car for production to start 10/1/1969 and the telegram announcing that Plymouth had complied with the requirements established for 1970 stock car racing of the Plymouth SUPERBIRD as delivered to dealers and therefore was eligible for competition as of Jan 14th, 1970.

This 1969 Dodge Charger is an authentic movie stunt car of the General Lee that was bought directly from Warner Brothers Studios. When have you seen a car with authentic Dukes of Hazzard history that has been sold out of Warner Brothers with its title and documentation? Documents include several color pictures of this car on the movie set. This car is unlike no other as it can be used for promotional purposes or events and there is no worry of getting in trouble or being sued. The car still has all the cool stunt items such as a roll cage and reinforced frame, fuel cell, right and left line locks, a second brake and a push bar. This car was one of the least abused as you can see. It is also signed by John Schneider (Bo Duke) and Catherine Bach (Daisy) and comes with a 1/18 die-cast model signed by the original cast.

Well it should be worth more now.  It looks more  like it was in the Dukes of Hazard!

The worst part is that the General Lee didn't get totally demolished. That is one car I can't stand, and the same for the TV show.

I saw something on another web site that leads me to believe it might be owned by a Canadian. Not certain however.

The red Chevelle is owned by someone I know . He was invited to Vettefest in Chicago last fall. Didn't know he was selling. The car was also at Performance World in Toronto.
