Where are you located? That block is right on/near the build date of my Acadian.

Are you looking for an actual Nova 327 block, date coded? Ouch, if so!!! 4 speed car, right? So you pretty much have to have a Nova block for the linkage to look correct.

Sooner or later I will have a standard bore 327 Nova block (have to get it home from Texas) but the date will be way too early for your car.

Yes, the only thing being it's not the right block for an Acadian (Nova) specific block.

Do you know how to tell them apart, or should I get you a pic and post it?

Hey, I have the identical little caster cart from Princess Auto that I was so mad at when I found it wouldn't adjust to fit a small block Chevy!!! Now I see how to adapt it so it will...

Easiest way to tell an Acadian (Nova) block. See in front of the oil filter, that machined area, hole drilled in it that is tapped and has the ball screwed in for the clutch Z bar? That is what makes the block Acadian (Nova) only. Also, the blocks are the only small journal blocks (283 or 327) that have a spin on oil filter from the factory.

No other small journal 283 or 327 block has those 2 features. They come in a few different casting numbers. I can dig them out for you and post them if you like.

Yes, that filter I have on there I believe would be the correct part number and length for the factory filter for 64-67 V8 cars.

Hey Chris, you don't happen to have a factory V8 clutch linkage setup that you could measure the threaded rod that pushes on the fork, do you? I posted on Steve's Nova Site looking for that dimension. I've been too busy here tonight to check back if anyone replied though!

Carl, what part of Texas is your block?  I may be going there in May but I would have to cut it up in smaller pieces to bring it on the plane.  There's a conference my wife may be going to in San Antonio and if she does I'll go down there for a week right after she's finished.  I got a buddy somewhere down there who went from here and built a really cool rv resort down there so would be fun.  Only trouble is he's a Ford guy.

Thanks Chris, that would be excellent. I checked at Steve's but nobody for sure has it yet.

To clarify, the pointed threaded piece, that is pictured here but I know is too long!

Jerel, it's in Houston. Sooner or later I will find a ride for it. I would get it shipped but I don't trust most companys to keep it safe.
I would be happy to pay someone I know the standard shipping fee (likely in the $250 range) to bring it to the Manitoba border.

I had my current 327 build (bare block) shipped from North Carolina and I think it was $242 or something like that. It arrived safely but I was nervous, they are hard to find.

Did you see the pic I posted farther up of my 327 with the painted oil filter? That shows the difference on the Acadian?Nova block. If the difference isn't clear enough I can take pics of an Impala block and Acadian block side by side to show it better. Should I do that?
