looking for inner trunk support for 70 B body

Starting tearing into the 70 Rag body last night and noticed that the trunk support that comes down from the rear tray on each side is missing I'm guessing that on the previous body/trunk job cut that support was cut out. I have a trunk pan that i cut out of another car to use but i didn't keep the full support. didn't think i would need it. heres a pict to give an idea what i'm looking for.

Was that dead '69 shown in pics from the Newcastle yard the car you already stripped...and if not is it still there?.
What about buddy's yard in Kendal...must be something there?.

The 65-70 B body ragtop does not have the brace Steven.
Only Sedans and HT's.

Cheers, Mark

Okay Thanxs. excellent. saves me some trouble, and i spent all day trying to order that brace. that's whats great about this forum, because there is no info out there on this car.

My 1970 Pontiac Bonneville convertible did have these braces probably because the car is longer than a Parisienne, there is a parts car close to where you live : http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1970-Pontiac-Bonneville-Convertible-W0QQAdIdZ177083661 It may be a good idea to add them on to your car ?

Aw Mark, you should have let him stew about it a bit longer before you told him!

You're right Carl! It at least would have slowed him down, he's working much too fast!

My thinking is they left it out intentionally on the CP and Chev ragtop.
They probably wanted the convertible to flex a little in the back, instead of all at the door jamb.

confirming what Mark said, my 70 2+2 rag does not have the angled brace.  My 70 2+2 hardtop does have it.
