I think the Leafs will put up a good fight tonight, I mean it's Hockey Day In Canada and Toronto is one of the greatest teams ever to play in the NHL.
Vancouver will be pumped too, not too often that they get on prime time in Central Canada on such a special day. Start of a road trip too, looks like two sure points.
I have a pair for Tuesday Night, Marty Broduer is in, I had a choice between tonight and Tuesday but in the end it was Broduer I want to see, no one better than him.
Ray I think you would have well enjoyed the Sedins and Burrows. You guys out east don't see them very often. There's a reason he's leading the scoring race. They got a guy in goal that's pretty good too, I just can't remember his name. Lou or something like that. There will also be a team starting a winning streak in Alberta tonight.

To be honest I see the Canucks play more than the Leafs. In the east we are lucky to get what we call the late game which is 9 times out of ten the Canucks. So I look forward to that. The way my coaching schedule is I seldom see the Leafs games.
I just like giving you Canuck fans the gears, I mean you actually think the team is a contender
Oh LOOK ! 3 - 0 Leafs after one. I'll be surprised if your sacred Lou starts the second!

Been watching all day in between errands and practice. I decided to celebrate at practice to day by wearing Canada's colours. (borrowed jerseys, closest thing to Team Canada I could get)
I think we look pretty good. My son Ryan is 20 and he is in the centre of the shot. one of our goalies has a broken wrist so Ryan suits up at practice. The boys love trying to score on one of their coaches!
Hey wadabout the Flames and Oilers game tonight ? A game of 2 loser teams lately, hopefully the Flames can pull it off. Go Leafs tonite too, gotta keep the Canucks within reach!!
Well as expected Canucks , I mean Burrows and the Twins beat the Leafs 5-3.
That was impresssive !
Come on Ray, how come those previous threads have been edited so many times. I just got on and didn't get to see the original script. Lots of fun. One thing I know about goalies is that they can't stand on their head every night. They all sieve out at one time or another.
I live with a goalie so I know! BTW I am a bad speller or too fast a typer, I make errors and have to go fix them. check the time, nothing funny there.
I was just wondering! I remember a month or so ago when I was bugging you to buy that 409 car you had a good reply for me for not getting it and the next day it had dissappeared so I was suspicious this time. Have to keep you on your toes. Always love hearing your hockey input.
I seem to remember hitting delete by mistake, sorry about that if that was one.
I hope everyone knows I am only joking around. To see Burrows and the twins pick up the team and win that game single handedly was a thing of beauty. And as for Luongo I don't think I would have pulled him if I was behind the bench especially knowing how fragile Raycroft is mentally, but it all worked out.
For me my hockey focus is tomorrow at 3:00 pm. My guys are playing up in Markham, second spot squad. They have only lost 5 all season and we have handed them 2 of those. We have 8 games left in regular season and play them twice. Our goal is to get 22 wins which will be twice last years total with another coach.

It's not easy keeping 13 year olds focused. They have so many other things going on. I started turning up the discipline meter after Christmas. Since then we have 5 wins in 7 games, 4 game win streak going. Having one goalie hurt actually has been a help too. With one guy going every game he seems to be in a groove, he's got a 1.4 GAA in the past 7 in a row starts.
My top centre left practice early today with a sore throat so I'll see what I have tomorrow morning.
well it looks like a good start form the nuks on the road 3-0 and lose again those leafs-they must be taking an emotional beating after that. and they played so well........did i mention those canuks
WE won't dwell on the Leafs, let's hope Luongo bounces back we need him in top form for Olympics.
Just back from my game and boy what a barn burner today. Did my boys ever show some game today, Tough battle in the third we are up 3-2 and with less than 2:00 minutes to go I am down 5-3 they pull their goalie so 6-3. We battle through to preserve the win. I had to send out my tough guys to get it done, instructions from the bench take a penalty to save a goal WHY because we can't be down more than two. We did take one on a sure goal a nice hook to save it then we battled the last 1:34 hard. The big boys took it behind our net and just ate the puck, goalie came up big too.
That is three wins over the second place team, we get them once more before playoffs.
Way to go Ray. Sounds like you coach to win and thats good ! The Flames made a blockbuster trade with your Leafs eh ? We gave up Phaneuf and Sjorstrum and took Stajan, Hagman and Ian White , hopefully this helps both teams. I think it will actually.
We are looking forward to some new blood here in Toronto, hopefully this will adjust Dion's attitude and energize his play. Hagman was probaly my favourite Leaf, he brings it every game.
As for my boys, I do coach to win, man in a game like that your competitiveness gets raging, when I was playing I would do whatever it took to win, it's hard to instil that in young boys who have a priviledge life, I've got a crew of private school boys - Upper Canada College, Royal St. Georges & Crescent, but I can tell you I have a few who will battle to the end too and they seem to be rising up at the right time, 6 wins in 8 starts since the Christmas break heading into the playoffs in 7 games.
I have a good story about this game, I'll put it on another thread. I actually had the referee change his ruling on a goal!
