What a little black beauty this truck is eh fellas? I'm so glad you left the "eyebrow" hood on it too! It took me over 5 years to find my '61 because any '60's or '61's I found, everyone had put a '62 or newer flat-across hood on them. To me, the eyebrow hood adds character! Heck, I like the eyebrow hoods so much I picked up one in mint condition down by Rodney for $100.00!! Ya gotta grab these things as you find them as well all know; right guys?
Hey Howard, was just thinking about the truck the other day. It sure did turn out great. How's my old 455 holding out? Never did get a chance to ask how well it's working. Glad you guy's got to use the parts I was collecting to build the truck I probablly wouldn't get around to.
As I said, I think the "eyebrow" hoods have character. But I kid you not, most of the ones I viewed for 1960 & 1961, whether Chevrolet or GMC, had the hoods changed on them. The fact the Chev truck has the 2 hump dash in the cab makes it match up with the hood just a little bit more, whereas the GMC only has the hump on the driver's side of the dash, but still cool nonetheless.
