1960 GMC - "Wicked Witch"

Here is my wife's project. 95% done Still work in progress.

1960 GMC Short box fleetside.  455 Olds, T400 . Disc brakes, 12 bolt rear. Suspension is from a donor 78 GMC. Lowered. Get's a lot of looks as people know something is different , but can't figure it out. ( it is now a unibody)

Black primer , satin clear. Burnt orange interior , and box. Black leather buckets. Done up in the Hallowen theme ( hence the name -Wicked Witch).

Fun to drive.

What a little black beauty this truck is eh fellas? I'm so glad you left the "eyebrow" hood on it too!
It took me over 5 years to find my '61 because any '60's or '61's I found, everyone had put a '62 or newer flat-across hood on them. To me, the eyebrow hood adds character! Heck, I like the eyebrow hoods so much I picked up one in mint condition down by Rodney for $100.00!! Ya gotta grab these things as you find them as well all know; right guys?

Hey Howard, was just thinking about the truck the other day. It sure did turn out great. How's my old 455 holding out? Never did get a chance to ask how well it's working. Glad you guy's got to use the parts I was collecting to build the truck I probablly wouldn't get around to.

As I said, I think the "eyebrow" hoods have character. But I kid you not, most of the ones I viewed for 1960 & 1961, whether Chevrolet or GMC, had the hoods changed on them. The fact the Chev truck has the 2 hump dash in the cab makes it match up with the hood just a little bit more, whereas the GMC only has the hump on the driver's side of the dash, but still cool nonetheless.

Hi Dan.... I did not realize you were a member on this site. I also did not know you had a couple of 65's.

Howard

Did you see a bunch of us Manitobans are planning a coffee night in two weeks (Wed night) in Winnipeg?

I could pick you up on the way by if you like.

Sure, that is fine. I can cross over south of your place and come that way, very easily.

Our host for the evening, beaumontguru is just off St Mary's road near St Vital Centre anyway, so it's not really out of my way to go past your place.

Sorry for the thread derail here guys.....!
