Wait a minute, Jamal Myers is a 4th line roll player, Stajan is a complete stiff, and Ian White, where do they plan on using him. Only Hagman will start on the Flames.

It is ashame when these guys are some of your best players, explains why the leafs are where they are.

Once again Burke shows us why he is an Elite GM. To me the team that gets the best player wins and there is no doubt Dion Panuef is not only a marquee Canadian he is one of the leagues elite players.

Way to go Burkie.

I hate to say this but the Leafs seem to never get 100 % out of all their players and whenever a player is traded they always do better with their new club. Hopefull Panuff will be different and add some leadership along with his hard body checking style to the Leafs. I suffered so long as a Leaf fan I gave up on them in the Harrold Ballard days. I am lucky to be old enough to remember when the Leafs were Stanley Cup winners in the early sixties and the last one in 1967. Deep down I am still a Leaf fan but when I am in Florida I will cheer for the Bolts. It is so easy to go to a game there as tickets are readily available and very resonably priced. I have a stubborn personality and I just will not pay the price to see a Leafs game in Toronto. It is just too expensive.

I gave up watching hockey years ago. TV is "stuck" on SPEED VISION, guess I qualify as a TRUE GEAR HEAD & can't wait for NASCAR to start back "racin" Boogety Boogety, lets go racin boys!!!!!

Well there was a lot of energy in the ACC tonight, got there early had a prime rib sandwhich and coke $14.99, Jr. got a pizza and a coke $9.99, parking $20. We had cheap seats tonight, 4th row greens I got from the NhL Minor Official timekeeper, a friend of mine for $195 a pair.

We sat in the good seats for the pregame and boy did Sjostrom ever look good. Anyway there was a new buzz in the place and it carried over to game time:

I see the Flames lost 3-0 with the ex-Leafs in the lineup, predicatable my friends. There was a lot of happiness in old Leaf Nation Tonight, and as Kevin said Giggy gets the 1st star, Dion #2 and Sjostrom #3 all well deserved. Dion had 4 shots on net and a few misses a number of solid hits and a fight, Sjostrom got one helper and just missed getting a goal and JS posts the SO only the second Leaf of all time to get a shut out in his first game. Belfour was first.

Well you guys are well due that excitement. I'm glad it happened. That's pretty pricey entertainment though. My whole 5 days at BJ with meals and parking didn't cost me that much. I must be getting cheap in my old age.

Sjostrom was a pretty energetic player here too, he was just getting to the point were they played him more. Too bad he had to go. Glad to see the Leafs are going to do well with the new players. Calgary actually looked worse with the new "players" last night, We'll have to see what happens tomorro with the other 2 new members of the Flames.

Jerel, I list the prices not to boast but to show everyone how NUTS this town is. Hillar had much better seats, Air Canada Club and those are $186 Each!!! The first $10 rows are a tad under $200 each.

I can get seats just about any time I want because I have a friend who works for the NHL as a minor official BUT who can afford them??????? I think the beer is $10 a glass and they limit you to two at a time, whippy eh!

I've been lucky this year, I've been 5 or 6 times and they won every time.....Hey they should be paying me to come eh!

Ken, Jamal Myers is old and he's done - 4th line a few shifts a game, Stajan well I'm glad to see the back end of him, he's a stiff - pretty useless, Ian White, a gamer but he makes a lot of defensive zone errors. Hagman is the best imo he brings it every game and competes, he'll scrap if he has too and he is a high energy player. He's got Sjostrom covered imo on first glance.

The next new guys should help you more.

Hagman was the best of the newcomers in their game last night for sure. I don't know about putting Stajan on the first line with Jarome though, he didn't seem to do much. Jamal seemed really involved with the play, but again didn't do a lot, And White didn't seem to bad, he didn't make any more mistake than the rest of the Defence.
The only two defence that are pretty good here are Giordano and Pardy, the others are so-so at best
You have to watch Phanouf though, hes kind of a YO-YO in games, some he can do no wrong, and the next hes a screw up from the drop of the puck

Being a coach I watched the new guys intently and listen we had more than the three traded guys, we had 3 or 4 from the farm in the lineup too.

Dion played a very safe game, he didn't try to do too much either way plus he played with Beauchemin most of the night...they were a very strong pair. I mean he did lay out two guys and he missed one by an inch hence the fight but he played it smart.

We all knew he had a good shot BUT to see him unload these bombs from the wheelhouse in person, well that was something. Even his wrist shots and snap shots are real heavy and he has strength in battling along the boards. He was credited with 4 shots on goal.

We also had Bozak, Walin, and Hanson up from the farm They all played very well. I was most most impressed with Christian Hanson at centre who seemed to take Stajan's spot and did very well. His Dad is one of the Hanson Brothers!but Christian can play plus of course he is Tough.

i might get to the Carolina game tonite. My boy lost last nite to the best Jr A team in Canada, Spruce Grove Saints by a 5-3 score. The Crusaders were ahead 3-2 with 8 minutes left and boy, 3 unanswered goals and it was done !

Elisha (yum) and Dion spend a bit of the Summer here on PEI. Dion has a nice Summer home here.
Saw Elisha in Charlottetown once (did I say, yum).

That hurts ! Been there too, I dread those post game "talks", they come a lot easier when you win like that BUT the boys have to hear the truth!
